Knowing JEE Main exam pattern and syllabus- The first step towards JEE Main preparation is to know the syllabus and exam pattern. With the help of the NTA JEE Main 2025 syllabus and exam pattern, candidates will be able to know what topics to study and the structure of the question paper.
Creating a study timetable- It is always advisable to create a study timetable. For that, referring to JEE Mains best books is essential. Moreover, candidates can also refer to the previous year JEE Main question paper, and mock test to enhance their preparation.
Attempt JEE Mains Mock Test - The mock test of JEE Main helps to boost confidence as well as provide knowledge of the type of questions asked in the exam. Candidates who solve the mock tests of JEE Mains have a high chance of getting good marks in the entrance exam.
Revision notes- During studying, candidates should make sure they create short notes/revision notes. With the help of the JEE Main revision plan, candidates will be able to revise the important points quickly.
Candidates are advised to clear the fundamentals of JEE Main topics from NCERT. However, as per the experts, to crack the JEE Main exam, merely completing NCERT is not sufficient. Hence, candidates can refer to the following best study material for the JEE Main 2025 exam.

This is primarily based on the CBSE Class 11 and 12 syllabus for all three subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
In a nutshell, though NCERT is excellent as a starting point, JEE Main is comparatively more vibrant with deeper thinking and hence it requires much more problem-solving acumen.
Key Takeaways
NCERT as Reference: NCERT books for Class 11 and 12 can be taken as a good foundation to start with JEE Main.
Other Reference Books: You can refer to some reference books like HC Verma for Physics, NCERT for Chemistry and RD Sharma or Cengage for Maths
Practice Daily: You should practice many practice problems and previous years' question papers to improve problem-solving and time management skills.
Join an Abode Coaching Institute: There are institutes of coaching and a good one can guide you through proper support from certified faculty and a competitive learning environment. Many students regularly interact with teachers to clear their doubts on specific topics or concepts.
By these tips and diligent study habits, you could all too well prepare yourself for the JEE Main and pass it successfully.
Hello,
If you are an improvement candidate for CBSE and your current Class 12 marks do not meet the 75% eligibility criteria for JEE Mains, you should enter your current marks in the application form. However, it’s essential to mention that you are an improvement candidate and are planning to appear for the improvement exams. Once you clear the improvement exams and meet the required 75% marks, you can fulfill the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains. The improvement exam results will be considered final for the eligibility requirement.
Additionally, ensure to keep the required documents ready, as JEE may require proof of your improvement exam marks once they are released. Always verify the latest updates on the JEE Mains eligibility criteria from official sources.
For more detailed information about JEE Mains eligibility and application, you can refer to Career360 JEE Mains page for the latest updates and guidelines.
Hello,
So, if you had an additional subject in Class 12 and you are going to appear for the JEE Mains exam, report your Class 12 marks out of 600 in the qualifications section. The total marks are considered out of 600 while including that additional subject for JEE Mains.
Accordingly, if you have taken an additional subject as a part of your Class 12 exams, you must ensure that you mention it clearly in the application form. So all marks you obtained including the extra one will be counted out of 600 and accordingly, your percentile will be calculated.
But if you are not familiar with how to do it then it is better to look at the official brochure of JEE Mains for the present guidelines, or contact the helpline for the same.
For more information on eligibility criteria of JEE Mains and its application form, visit the page of JEE Mains on the website of Career 360 and official website of JEE Mains.
