GATE Eligibility Criteria 2020 - The conducting authority announced GATE 2020 eligibility criteria for students along with the information brochure. GATE 2020 eligibility criteria consist of all the important information regarding eligibility such as academic qualifications, the aggregate score, age limit etc. According to a new notification, candidates who registered for certification equivalent to B.E./B.Tech from any of the professional societies will also be eligible for GATE 2020. However, this eligibility will be provisional and further subjected to court orders. Candidates who met the eligibility conditions were able to appear for GATE exam. Applicants who were unable to meet the eligibility criteria were disqualified from GATE 2020. Students must also note that these eligibility conditions are just for GATE examination and the eligibility criteria for admissions into M.Tech courses at different IITs will be decided separately. All candidates must carefully go through GATE eligibility criteria 2020. GATE 2020 was conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9.

GATE 2020 Paper Wise Eligibility Criteria

Apart from the general eligibility criteria of GATE 2020, authorities also released paper wise eligibility criteria of GATE 2020. All candidates applying for GATE 2020 were required to have completed their Bachelor's degree or must be in the final year of their graduation. Candidates who have completed their Bachelor's degree were required to submit the passing certificate and candidates who are currently in their final year had to submit a certificate from their institute’s principal. The given below table shows paper wise GATE 2020 eligibility criteria.

GATE 2020 Eligibility Criteria - Documents to be Uploaded

Candidates applying for GATE 2020 were required to know that along with the relevant details and application fee, they also had to upload some mandatory documents specified by the exam conducting authorities The eligibility criteria certificate had to be uploaded in the application form as applicable and candidates were not required to send it by post or any other medium. Given below are some important points related to eligibility documents to be uploaded by candidates:

  • If the applicants have pursued/pursuing any higher degree mentioned in the table, in that case, the candidate should choose the minimum required qualifying degree at the time of filling the application form.

  • Students who have completed one of the qualifying examinations given in the table in 2019 or earlier, then they are required to submit the degree certificate/provisional degree certificate/course completion certificate/membership certificate as issued by the designated authorities.

  • In case a student is expected to complete the qualifying criteria in 2020 or later as mentioned in the table, then he/she has to upload their Provisional Certificate Letter (as issued by the Head of the Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Department) or a copy of marks card for Section A of AMIE, etc.

  • Candidates with backlogs (failed subjects) in any of the subjects in their qualifying examination have to upload a copy of any of the mark sheet of the final year issued from the institute where he/she was pursuing their qualifying examination. It has to be noted that the internet downloaded mark-sheet will not be accepted under any circumstances.

  • SC/ST category candidates have to upload a valid document proof to avail a concession in the application fee. Certificates issued by authorized officials will only be considered for concession.

  • PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category candidates are required to upload a PwD certificate issued by a recognized authority. Candidates who have at least 40% impairment irrespective of the kind of disability will only be provided concession in the application fee. Candidates are also required to submit the certificate at the allotted institute at the time of admission.

  • Dyslexic candidates will be required to submit a certificate stating the same issued by authorities in order to get the services of a scribe.

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2020 for admission in M.Tech courses

Candidates who will qualify the entrance test and fulfil GATE 2020 eligibility criteria will be given admissions in M.Tech courses at different IITs, NITs, IIITs and some CFTIs. There will be no separate counselling process for GATE 2020 and candidates will have to apply separately for different counselling processes. For admission in M.Tech courses in IITs, candidates will have to apply to register through COAP. The counselling process for COAP will be carried out separately. Applicants seeking admissions in NITs, IIITs and some CFTIs, the candidates will have to apply through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT).

Bitspilani provided the Mtech or Ms courses in various fields. All the admission based on GATE in a way.

Minimum of 60% marks is needed to choose a stream.

Though the cut offs are changed day by day but 60% is needed.

i got 66 marks in gate 2020. civil engineering... do i have any chance of getting into psus or IITS

Hello,

The cut off marks of GATE for the each trade is more or less change in every year.

Basically it is depend on the number of students allotted in the examination.

With 66 marks you have the chances in IITs. Basically as per the last years result have to do 30.

hi,

see if you get 50 or 50+ marks in gate you have fare chances for nits.like nit durgapur, nit sikkim, nit patna, manit bhopal etc. however there is less chances for old iits. every year cutoff score changes and it depends on various factors like number of participants, question difficulty level, seat matrix etc.
