QnA related to JEE Main

Ask your question related to JEE Main

Top NITs – No chance.

New NITs (like Mizoram, Nagaland) – Very slim chance in low-demand branches.

Top IIITs – No chance.

New IIITs – Very difficult, almost no chance.

Tip: Try for state government colleges through JEE Main too.

Since you’ve qualified JEE Mains Paper 2 but not Paper 1, you cannot apply for JEE Advanced directly, as the eligibility for JEE Advanced requires candidates to have qualified JEE Mains Paper 1 .

Important Points:

  1. Eligibility for JEE Advanced : You must qualify Paper 1 of JEE Mains, which is the entrance exam for JEE Advanced . Paper 2 is for B.Arch aspirants and does not affect eligibility for JEE Advanced.

  2. Which Score is Counted : For JEE Advanced , only the Paper 1 score is considered, and it’s used to determine your eligibility for the exam.

What to Do Next:

  • You may be able to apply for other B.Arch colleges based on your Paper 2 result, but for JEE Advanced, you would need to clear Paper 1 in a future attempt.

Cleared only Paper 2 in JEE mains

With 56 percentile in JEE Mains 2025, your estimated All India Rank would be around 4.8 to 5.5 lakh.

For B.Tech in Electrical Engineering at SATI Vidisha, based on previous years’ trends:

The closing ranks for Electrical Engineering were around 4.3 lakh in 2024.

In 2023, the closing rank was tighter, around 2.3 lakh.

This means your chances are borderline.

You might get admission if:

You belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

You have a home state advantage (Madhya Pradesh).

With a 56 percentile in JEE Mains, admission to a BTech in Electrical Engineering at SATI Vidisha may be challenging, as the cutoff typically varies based on the category and the number of applicants. It’s advisable to check the official cutoff for the specific year.

With an EWS rank of 17,695 in JEE Main, it is unlikely to secure a seat in top NITs for popular branches like CSE or ECE. However, you may have a chance in newer or lower-demand branches at NITs. It depends on the specific institute and the seat allocation process.

With an 800,000 JEE rank in the OBC category, getting admission into top engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh might be challenging. However, you may explore state-level colleges, private universities, or consider other pathways like direct admission or lateral entry.

With a JEE Main rank of 5,28,143 in the ST category (home state), it is unlikely that you will be able to secure admission in popular branches such as Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering at SGSITS Indore. You may be considered for lower-demand branches, depending on their cutoff trends. However, it is advisable to check the official counseling details for accurate and updated information.

You can access the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Paper 2B (B.Planning) result on the official NTA website: jeemain.nta.ac.in (https://jeemain.nta.ac.in)

Once there, navigate to the "Results" section and select "Session 2 Paper 2B (B.Planning) Result." Log in using your application number and date of birth to view your NTA score.

For further assistance, you may contact the NTA helpline at +91-11-40759000 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in (mailto:jeemain@nta.ac.in) .

According to latest updates (search results from April 19–27), the official confirmation of the JEE Main Paper 2 Session 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) result for 2025 is still waiting, while it was anticipated to be released by April 17–22.  Although the results of Paper 1 were announced on April 19, the results of Paper 2 are probably still pending.  For the most recent information and the direct result link, visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.

With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 140720 in the general category, you may have the opportunity to apply to lower-tier National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Government-funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and private engineering colleges. It is recommended to check the official counseling process for detailed seat allocation based on rank.
