To calculate the the scores in IISER aptitude test, candidates can follow the below steps:
First, calculate how many answers are correct.
Multiply all the correct answers by 3. For example, if X presents the correct answer marks, there are 100 correct answers, so that will fetch 300 marks.
Now, calculate how many answers are wrong.
Now, you have to deduct the marks for wrong answers. For example, if Y presents wrong answer marks, there are 20 wrong answers, so 20 marks will be deducted).
Now, subtract correct answer marks from wrong answer marks. For example, X-Y gives you (300-20 = 280), which is the actual score you have secured in the examinations.
Total Number of Questions | 60 |
Marks allotted for the correct answer | 3 Marks will be rewarded |
Negative Marking | 1 Mark |
Marking for unattempted question | 0 Mark |

Hello,
If you have uploaded the old EWS certificate (2024–2025) instead of the new one (2025–2026), there is a chance that it may not be accepted, as the IISER notification clearly asks for the valid and updated EWS certificate for the year 2025–2026.
Right now, if the correction window is closed, you won’t be able to change it. But don’t worry too much. Once the results are out and before the counselling starts (before 16 June), there is usually a document verification process. You may get a chance to upload the correct and updated certificate during that time.
Just make sure you get the 2025–2026 EWS certificate ready as soon as possible, so if they allow updates before counselling, you can upload the correct one.
Hope it helps !
Hello,
If you have selected OBC-NCL category and uploaded a Central OBC-NCL certificate , then there is no issue .
IISER accepts Central OBC-NCL certificate , as long as it is valid and issued by a competent authority. Just make sure the certificate is:
Issued within one year from the application date.
Clearly mentions OBC-NCL and your caste is in the central list .
If these points are okay, then your form is fine.
Hope it helps !
Hello aspirant,
Applicants must take either the JEE Main or JEE Advanced exam in order to be considered for admission to the best engineering institutes in India. JEE Advanced and Main are administered by separate bodies. Because the JEE Advanced exam is more difficult than the JEE Main exam, candidates who are prepared for it have an advantage.
