How to participate in IISER counselling 2019?

Candidates who will qualify in KVPY, JEE Advanced 2019 exam (and secure rank as specified) and IISER aptitude test as conducted for SCB channel candidates have separate merit lists prepared by the institute authorities. Those having their names in the merit list are able to participate in the counselling of IISER 2019 as conducted in online mode.

Steps for online IISER counselling 2019

Candidates can follow the steps given below for IISER 2019 counselling:

Step 1 – Filling of IISER application form: Candidates were required to fill the requisite application form and submit it on or before the last date. There were separate application forms for separate channels of admission.

Step 2 - Choice filling: Candidates were required to fill in their choice of IISER 2019 participating institutes and B.Tech courses offered by them in the order of their preference during the counselling procedure. The list of participating institutes of IISER had been given below for candidates’ reference.

IISER participating institutes 2019

  • Pune

  • Mohali

  • Bhopal

  • Kolkata

  • Tirupati

  • Berhampur

  • Thiruvananthapuram

Step 3 – Reporting at the allotted centres: Candidates had to report to the centres allotted to them for the sake of document verification.

The following documents were required during counselling:

  • Admit card of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER exam

  • Class X marksheet and certificate

  • Class XII marksheet and certificate

  • Original counselling letter and photocopy of the same

  • Score card of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER exam

  • Demand draft made according to the guidelines of IISER

  • Recent color passport size pictures

  • Category certificate (if applicable)

Step 4 – Seat allotment: Candidates are allotted seats on the basis of choices filled, their merit and availability of seats in the institutes.

Step 5 – Payment of fee: Candidates who will be allotted seats will be required to pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee of Rs 25,000 in case they belong to General and OBC categories. However, for those belonging to other categories will have to pay Rs 12,500 for accepting seat.

IISER Seat Allotment 2019

The third seat allotment of SCB channel has been declared. Previously, the final allotment for KVPY and JEE Advanced candidates was released on July 1. The authorities allot seats to candidates on the basis of their preferences as filled, their rank in the merit list and availability of seats on the respective B.Tech programme and IISER.

Practice of Float as an option during seat allotment - If a candidate has been allotted seat, he or she can either choose to retain it or opt for a change on the basis of their preference as mentioned in his or her application form and according to their merit.

If a candidate selects "Yes" under the Float option and if he or she does not get the IISER of their first preference during seat allocation, then their application will be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allocation.

However, if a candidate selects "No" under the Float option in their application form then their first allotment (if made any) to any one of the IISER's will be final.

Hello Dear Student,

It is not possible to check the score you got in aptitude test because IISER has closed its result displaying portal and that is the only way to check the score as allotments for all the respective streams like SCB, JEE-Advanced and KVPY. I hope this was helpful.
