Questions related to JEE Main

Hey Anushka, So, you're wondering how to snag a spot in Amity Noida's B.Tech program? Good question! It's not just about JEE Main, thankfully. They actually have a few different ways to get in, which is great because it gives more people a chance. First off, here's the basic eligibility:

You've gotta have passed Class XII with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as your main subjects.

Now, for the Non-Sponsored category (which is usually merit-based), you'll need at least 60% overall in both Class X and Class XII.

If you're applying under the Sponsored category, they're a bit more lenient – you'll need a minimum of 55%. Just keep in mind that the fees are usually higher for this category. Okay, so about those entrance exams... Here's the breakdown:

Amity JEE: Amity has its own entrance exam, the Amity JEE. You can register for it on their website.

JEE Main Scores: If you've already taken JEE Main and did well, you might be able to get direct admission. It really depends on your score and the specific program you're after.

CUET: Yep, they take CUET scores too for certain B.Tech programs. You'll have to double-check if your chosen specialisation accepts it. What happens after you apply?

Personal Interview: Don't be surprised if you're called for an interview! They want to see if you're actually interested in engineering and a good fit for the program.

Online Application: Head over to Amity's website and fill out the online application form. Be sure to have all your details handy.

Document Submission: Gather your transcripts, exam scores, ID proofs and any other requested documents. After that, they'll let you know if you've been shortlisted and what the next steps are. This could mean taking the Amity JEE or scheduling that interview we talked about. A few other things to keep in mind:

Like I said before, Amity has those two categories: Non-Sponsored and Sponsored. Really think about which one makes the most sense for you based on your grades and how much you're willing to pay.

And finally, some B.Tech programs might have extra requirements or higher cut-off marks. So, definitely read the fine print for the specific program you're interested in!

Hello,

With a JEE Main percentile of 98.01, your expected CRL (Common Rank List) rank would be around 19,900.

For Nirma University's B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), the previous year's closing merit number was approximately 504.  This suggests that admission to the CSE program is highly competitive.

Given your expected rank of around 19,900, securing admission to the CSE program at Nirma University may be challenging. However, you might have better chances in other engineering branches at Nirma University or at other reputable institutions.

You can use our JEE Main College Predictor Tool to predict which college you can get based on your score.

Hope it helps !

Apart from JEE Main, VITEEE, and SRMJEE, you can consider the following entrance exams for engineering admissions in India:

1. National-Level Exams:

BITSAT – BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad

WBJEE – For engineering colleges in West Bengal

COMEDK UGET – For private engineering colleges in Karnataka

MET (Manipal Entrance Test) – For Manipal Institute of Technology

KIITEE – For KIIT University, Bhubaneswar

AMUEEE – For Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

CUET UG (for B.Tech at some universities) – Includes central and private universities offering B.Tech

2. State-Level Exams:

MHT CET – For Maharashtra engineering colleges

KEAM – For Kerala engineering colleges

AP EAMCET – For Andhra Pradesh engineering colleges

TS EAMCET – For Telangana engineering colleges

Dear aspirant !!

Hope you are doing well !

With a 70.7 percentile in JEE Mains and being from the general category (Punjab) as the only girl child, your chances of getting into NIT Jalandhar or NIT Hamirpur will depend on various factors such as:

  1. Category-wise Cutoff : The closing rank for general category candidates at these NITs can vary each year based on several factors such as the number of candidates, difficulty level of the exam, and seat availability. The percentile you have is relatively on the lower side, so the opening and closing ranks of the previous years will give you an idea of whether it's possible.

  2. Gender-based Relaxation : Some NITs provide slight relaxation in cutoff for female candidates, which might increase your chances slightly.

  3. Home State Quota : Being from Punjab, you would fall under the home state quota for NIT Jalandhar. Home state quota typically has a lower cutoff compared to the All India quota, so this could work in your favour

  • NIT Jalandhar : Based on the last few years' trends, the closing rank for general category female candidates from Punjab has been higher than your percentile. However, being a female candidate could give you some advantage.
  • NIT Hamirpur : Similar trends apply, though the cutoffs here might be slightly different. You may have a better chance in the home state quota.

You should check the opening and closing ranks for the past few years on the official JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) website or other platforms that publish detailed information about the cutoff trends. It's also advisable to stay updated on the counseling process to understand if there is any possibility of getting a seat through other categories like the home state quota or female quota.

Thanks

yes, the admission to engineering courses at Delhi University (DU) is primarily conducted through JEE Main, not through the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

Earlier, DU used to accept marks from the JEE Main exam for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses. However, the CUET (introduced for admission to undergraduate courses in many universities, including DU, for non-engineering programs) does not replace the requirement for JEE Main for engineering admissions. Therefore, candidates aspiring for engineering courses at DU must appear for JEE Main and not the CUET.

To summarize, for engineering courses at DU:

  • JEE Main scores are required.
  • CUET is used for admissions to other undergraduate programs (like Humanities, Science, Commerce), but not for engineering courses.

For confirmation, it's always a good idea to refer to the official DU website or the admission notice of the specific academic year.
