JEE Main Application FormJEE Main Application Form 2018 - CBSE has closed JEE Main Application Correction facility on January 22 in online mode. Candidates could edit most of the particulars in JEE Main 2018 application form, except for mode of exam form online to offline and registration details, using the correction facility. During application correction, if applicable, candidates have to pay the additional fee either online through credit/debit card/E-wallet/SBI buddy/Paytm or through e-challan generated during online correction by cash in Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank from January 9 to January 23, 2018. JEE Main application form was available in online mode from December 1 to January 1, 2018. The application fee was to be paid by the candidates till January 2, 2018 in both offline and online modes. While filling JEE Main application form 2018, the candidates were required to provide valid personal, educational information and more. Submission of Aadhaar Card number was mandatory for all candidates except for candidates belonging to the states of Assam, J&K and Meghalaya. Verification of the mobile and email ID was mandatory while filling the JEE Main 2018 application form. Selection of 4 exam centres in order of their preference also had to be done by the candidates if 4 or more centres were available for JEE Main. Candidates were required to upload their photograph, signature and the signature of the father/mother/guardian as per specifications in the JEE Main application form 2018.

Candidates opting for the Computer-based exam had to book their exam slot/dates while filling the application form of JEE Main 2018 just after making the payment of exam fee. JEE Main 2018 offline exam has been concluded, while CBT is being held on April 15 & 16. The correction window to edit or correct the details in the application form is now closed. Candidates were able to make changes and corrections in their JEE Main 2018 application form till January 22. What to keep ready before filling JEE Main Application Form 2018

 

CBSE has specified that candidates need to upload the scanned images of their recent photograph, signature as well as the signature of their mother or father or guardian. This must be done after filling the details in the application form of JEE Main 2018. Details and documents required are as follow:

  • Email Id & mobile number

  • Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrolment No; In case of students from Assam, J&K or Meghalaya, they may upload the scanned images of their passport, voter ID or any valid Govt ID.

  • Scanned images of photograph, signature of candidate and guardian as per given specifications

  • Credit/ Debit/ net banking details if fee is paid online

  • Class X and XII details

Candidates must also note that they should have a good internet connection while filling the online JEE Main 2018 application form. Candidates must mind that the web browser to use prefereably to avoid technical glitches are

Step 1 – JEE Main Online Registration (Authentication Through Aadhaar/ID) 

  • Registration is the first step of JEE Main application form 2018. All candidates are required to register by first clicking on the“Apply for JEE Main 2018” button and thereafter click on “Proceed to Apply Online”

  • Candidates are required to fill details of their Nationality, State of Eligibility, State where Class 12th School / NIOS study centre is located, Identification Type, Aadhaar Card Number if ID chosen is Aadhaar, Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin

  • If the details of the Aadhaar card match the details stored in the UID database, candidates can proceed to fill the JEE Main 2018 application form.

  • Candidates who do not have an Aadhaar Card must visit the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre (the list is given at https://uidai.gov.in/) and apply for the same. Such candidates must enter the 14 digit Enrolment No/ UR including "/" instead of the Aadhaar No. 

Step 2 - Filling of Online JEE Main Application Form

 

In the next step of JEE Main 2018 application form, the candidates have to submit their following details

  • Exam Related Details - Candidates must specify the paper applying for, Mode of Examination, Choice of Examination Centre and the Question Paper Language Medium

  • Personal Details - Candidates must enter their personal details like Name, Father and Mother's name, Category, whether they are persons of Disability,  Nationality etc. Diabetic candidates must tick the "Are you Diabetic?" question as yes in order to be aloed food to eat in the exam hall.

  • Academic Details - Candidates must enter their Class 10th details, Board as well as Class XII details along with the Board, mode of preparation, address of the school

  • Mailing Address Details - Applicants must fill the details of their address. It may be noted that the address need not match the Aadhaar Card. This is as per the CBSE mentioned guidelines.

  • Guardian Details -  The details of the Guardian or Parents occupation, qualification and annual income have to be mentioned here.

How to Choose Password?

 

The candidates have to create a password and choose a security question and answer. The password must have 8 to 13 characters and should have at least one upper case alphabet, one lower case alphabet, and at least one numeric value. The password should also have at least one of these special characters - [email protected]#$%^&*- . Candidates may note that they must review and submit the application form of JEE Main 2018 after filling the details and choosing the password. The JEE Main application number 2018 that is generated must be noted down by candidates as it will be required for logging in again.

 

Step 3 - Verification of Mobile No & Email ID

 

Candidates are required to verify their mobile number and the email ID they have entered while filling the JEE Main 2018 Registration. The verification for each will need an OTP which must be entered after they receive it.

 

Step 4 – Uploading of Scanned Documents

 

After submitting the required information in the application form of JEE Main 2018, the candidates will have to upload their photograph, signature and the signature of their father/mother/guardian The required specifications of the scanned documents are listed above. Candidates must use the “Upload Scanned Images” tab and upload the scanned images. They may use the preview button to check the images and then submit them.

Important: The photograph of the candidate must have the name in capital below the photo along with the date on which it is taken.

 

Step 5 – Payment of JEE Main Exam Fee

 

JEE Main 2018 application fee can be paid via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ PayTM/SBI Buddy Wallet/Cash Cards. They can also opt to download the Echallan and pay the amount in cash in the nearest Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank and ICICI Bank. Candidates may note thatpayment through credit card will incur additional charges of 1.20% of the examination fee plus GST as applicable

Method to calculate your JEE Main 2018 Exam Fee

 

The JEE Main examination fee calculator is available in online mode. The candidates have to enter the following details to calculate examination fee:

  • Applying for (JEE Main Paper I/JEE Main Paper II/JEE Main Paper I or II both)

  • Mode of Examination

  • Location of Exam

  • Category

  • Person with Disability

  • Gender

  • Case Sensitive Security Pin (As reflected on the window itself)

The examination fee as per the category of the candidate will be reflected on the screen. Candidates must pay this amount after filling the details in the JEE Main 2018 application form.

Step 6 - Booking of Slot/Dates (only for CBT applicants)

 

After making the payment, candidates will be asked to book their slot for computer based test. They will have to choose the date for Computer Based Examination of Paper-I and the test centre opted by the candidate  will be displayed along with the details of Centre Code, Name, Exam Dates, Capacity, Occupied and Remaining slots. Candidates must confirm their choice of centre and date as well as slot. Thereafter they can print their JEE Main 2018 acknowledgement page.

 

Step 7 – Printout of Acknowledgement Page

 

In the final step of JEE Main application form 2018/ registration, the candidates (both Pen & Paper as well as CBT) have to download the acknowledgement slip. The JEE Main acknowledgement slip will have to be kept safe for future reference.

How to check the progress of JEE Main 2018 Application Form

 

Candidates can check the progress of their JEE Main 2018 application form by using the "Application Form Progress"  feature available on the left corner of the application window. The feature has three steps - 1. View Application Form, 2. View Scanned Images, and 3. View Payment Status. To check the status of the application form at any stage, simply click on on the corresponding Step.

 

How to remove discrepancy in uploaded Images of JEE Main Application Form 2018

  • Registered candidates have to first login by entering their application number, password and the security pin

  • Candidates will have to click on 'view scanned images' 

  • After clicking on the link "edit on uploaded images"  

  • Candidates who have discrepancies in their images will receive a message from CBSE. In case they don't receive any sms, they must mail their images along with their application number to [email protected]

What if you forget your JEE Main Application No/Password?

  • Forgot Password in JEE Main Application Form 2018? - Candidates can reset their password of JEE Main application form 2018 with the help of the Security question and answer chosen while filling of the JEE Main application form. The verification code will be sent to the registered mobile number while the reset link will be sent to the Email ID. Candidates must use the rest link and enter the verification code to retrive and change their password.

  • Forgot JEE Main 2018 Application Number? - If the candidates forget their application number of JEE Main, they must first click on “I can’t access my account? and then  “I forgot my JEE Main Application Number” link after which details like Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, State of Eligibility and the Security Pin have to be entered. The JEE Main 2018 application number will be recovered thereafter. 

JEE Main 2018 Application Form - Important Points to Note

  • The JEE Main 2018 application Number is also the login ID. Candidates must keep this safe. If they forget it they can retieve it as mentioned above

  • The JEE Main acknowledgement page can be printed by candidates anytime after logging in. However it is advisable to download and keep a copy after the application process is completed.

  • CBT applicants must book their slots after payment else they will be alltted slots as per availabilty and not by choice.
  • All applicants are advised to keep 6-8 identical photographs for future use in the admission process. The photograph has to be the exact one used during JEE Main registration.

Q. In what mode is JEE Main Application form available?

Ans: JEE Main 2018 Application Form was available in online mode only.

 

Q. Is the Aadhaar Card mandatory for candidates across India?

Ans: No, Aadhaar Card number was not required in case of candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates belonging to the states of Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir were able to fill the application form of JEE Main 2018 using their Passport Number, ration card number, bank account, any other valid Govt. identity number provided they should select the city of examination in these states only.

 

Q. In case a transaction fails while paying the fee, what needs to be done?

Ans: If the payment status of the online transaction (by credit/debit card) was not communicated by payment gateway in real time, then fee payment was not completed. In this case, the candidates were required to pay the fees again either through the online transaction or by e-challan and to download the acknowledgement page. The failed transaction amount of credit/debit card is refunded within 7 to 10 days. In case, fee payment was made through e-challan and the fee is not updated on the website, the candidate had to contact the concerned bank/branch for updation of fee. However, such candidates may also send the copy of paid e-challan through e-mail on [email protected]

 

Q. I am opting for JEE Main CBT. When do I have to book my exam centre as date for the same?

Ans: After you submit the JEE Main application form 2018 and pay the exam fees, you will be asked to book your preferred test slot/date from the given dates. The status of the slots available in the chosen exam centre of JEE Main will be displayed on the screen. You should choose accordingly and confirm the details.

What After JEE Main Application Form 2018

 

JEE Main 2018 Admit Card

 

CBSE had released the admit card of JEE Main 2018 on March 12, 2018. Only registered candidates were able to download their JEE Main admit card in online mode. To download the JEE Main 2018 admit card, candidates had to log in and enter their application number and Date of Birth. After downloading JEE Main admit card 2018, candidates had to check all the details on it and ensure that all particulars are correct. Once the admit card is downloaded, candidates have to take printout of it. Candidates are advised to take more than 2 printout of the admit card of JEE Main 2018, in case 1 copy is lost. 

 

 

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2018 - The exam pattern of JEE Main 2018 has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

 

JEE Main Paper Pattern for Paper 1

  • Exam Duration - 3 hours

  • Subjects - comprise 3 subjects of equal weightage: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)

  • Total No. of Questions - 90 (30 questions from each subject)

  • Total Marks - 360 (120 marks form each subjects)

  • Questions Type - Objective Type Questions or Mulitple Choice Questions

  • Marking Scheme - 4 marks for each question and 1 mark deducted as negative marking. No marks deducted for no response.

JEE Main Paper Pattern for Paper 2

  • Exam Duration - 3 hours

  • Subjects - comprise 3 subjects: Mathematics (Part I), Aptitude Test (Part II), Drawing Test (Part III)

  • Total No. of Questions - 82 (Mathematics - 30 question, Aptitude Test - 50 question, Drawing Test - 2 questions testing drawing aptitude)

  • Total Marks - 390

  • Questions Type - Objective Type Questions or Mulitple Choice Questions

  • Marking Scheme - For part I and II, 4 marks for each question and 1/4 mark deducted as negative marking. For part III, 2 questions carrying 70 marks. The marks alloted to the these questions display alongside the question.

JEE Main 2018 pen & paper is being conducted on April 8; online mode of the test will be conducted on April 15 & 16. Candidates will be able to check their JEE Main Paper 1 result 2018 on April 30 and Paper II result on May 31.
