As of March 27, 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the official syllabus for JEE Main 2026. However, based on previous patterns, it's anticipated that the JEE Main 2026 syllabus will closely align with the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12, covering subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Expected Structure of JEE Main 2026:

  1. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech):

    • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  2. Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning):

Hello Ishika,

Since you have done a Diploma in CS and had Humanities in 10+2 , your eligibility for B.Tech in CS depends on the admission criteria of different colleges.

1. Eligibility for B.Tech

  • Lateral Entry (Direct 2nd Year Admission): You can apply for B.Tech in CS via LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Tests) in many states and universities.

  • Regular B.Tech (1st Year Admission): Some colleges may allow diploma holders, but JEE Mains and CUET UG mainly require PCM in 12th for B.Tech admission.

    2. Entrance Exams for Better Colleges
  • LEET Exams (For Lateral Entry): IPU CET (Delhi), WB JELET (West Bengal), AP ECET, TS ECET, etc.

  • JEE Mains & CUET UG: Mostly require PCM in 12th, so you might not be eligible for them.

  • Private Universities: VITEEE (VIT), SRMJEEE (SRM), and other universities have different eligibility rules—some accept diploma holders.

    3. Alternative Options

If you can’t get into B.Tech CS, you can also consider BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) or B.Sc. CS, which have similar career opportunities in IT.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello,

With JEE Main percentile of 87.39 your approx rank can be around 126100 ( Assuming 10 lakhs candidates have appeared in the exam )

Pandit Deendayal Energy University ( PDEU )

  1. ECE ( Closing rank was 4855 )
  2. Mechanical ( closing rank was 11,833 )

Nirma University

  1. ECE ( closing rank was 1127 )
  2. Mechanical Engineering ( closing rank was 6141 )

Given your percentile and approx rank, getting admission in these branches at either PDEU or Nirma University is unlikely based on the past trends. Do check for other colleges as well

Hello,

Getting 153 marks is absolutely commendable and can place you in the top colleges of the country. Based on your marks, your percentile will be around 98 to 98.5 and rank would be around 16000 to 21000

Colleges you can aim are:-

  1. Mid tier NITs ( NIT Silchar, NIT Calicut )
  2. IIITs
  3. GFTIs ( like BIT Mesra )

With a score of 153 in JEE Mains, you have a chance of getting into several engineering colleges. Although it might be challenging for you to get into the top NITs or IITs.

However, you can still aim for other reputable institutions and private colleges. To get the most accurate information, I recommend you to check the official counseling websites like JoSAA for government colleges and the respective admission portals for private institutions.

The cutoffs vary each year based on the number of applicants and their performance.

Revert for further query!

Yes, your marks in Plus One (Class 11)  will affect your rank in KEAM, JEE, and potentially CUET (depending on the university) as these exams consider both Class 11 and Class 12 marks for the final ranking in Kerala.

For KEAM, weightage is given to both Class 11 and Class 12 marks (typically equal weightage of 50% each) for the final rank calculation in Engineering entrance.

JEE Main considers only Class 12 board marks for the ranking. However, some IITs might include Class 11 marks as part of their criteria for shortlisting candidates for the JEE Advanced entrance exam.

The weightage given to Class 11 and 12 marks for CUET ranking can vary depending on the university you're applying to. Some universities might consider only Class 12, while others might include Class 11 marks as well. It's crucial to check the specific admission criteria of the universities you're interested in through CUET.

I hope it helps!

Hello,

Firstly, I will Like to say you not to get demotivate or not to be in tensed situation about what to do next. You should always have many plans ready to face such situations and JEE is not an easy exam to get cracked at once and get better college but we must not loose hopes. Secondly, answer to your question: Yes, You can get admission with CUET score, but let me tell you that a strong CUET score can significantly increase your chances of getting into top colleges, particularly central universities, as the exam is the primary selection criterion for many programs.

Third, but not the least even if you don't abled to secure good score in CUET as well, then too you can get admission in many private colleges under the management quota. So, I will suggest you not to loose hope and practice as many time as you can, and face the exam with full confidence.

Here is the link for your reference, the list of colleges which accept CUET score.
