    GATE Exam Pattern 2026

    Candidates must check the GATE 2026 exam pattern before commencing their preparation.     GATE 2026 Exam Notification

    IIT Guwahati has released the GATE 2026 exam notification on the official website. The GATE exam notification also contains the exam date, eligibility, and list of subjects. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is held for PG admissions at IITs, IISc, and various other universities and colleges across India. GATE-qualified candidates can also apply for PSU recruitment through GATE 2026. The exam will be conducted for 30 subjects.

    GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates who wish to apply for the exam have to meet the GATE 2026 eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for the GATE exam 2026 specify certain conditions that have to be met to appear for the exam.

    • Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of India. Moreover, NRIs who fulfil the eligibility conditions can also appear for IIT Guwahati GATE 2026.

    Who will conduct the GATE in 2026?

    The GATE exam will be conducted by IIT Guwahati. Every year, one of the IITs or IISc conducts the GATE exam. Last year, GATE exam was hosted by IIT Roorkee.

    What is GATE?

    GATE full form is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a national-level entrance examination conducted once a year. Candidates must be aware of the GATE full form as it highlights its significance as a gateway for students aiming for admission to postgraduate programs across top institutes in India. As per the GATE full form, the entrance exam will be held for various disciplines, including Engineering, Arts, Science, Humanities and Architecture. IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee) conduct the GATE exam on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB). Moreover, various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) accept the GATE scores for the recruitment of management trainee (MT) posts.
