Chapter Weightage Band

Preparation Strategy

High Weightage (8–18%)

Treat these as Do or Die chapters. For JEE Mains 2026 - Prioritize in daily study schedule. - Revise NCERT + coaching notes thoroughly. - Solve at least the last 10 years’ PYQs. - Create formula/short notes for rapid revision.

Moderate Weightage (5–8%)

These chapters can boost your score significantly. - Allocate alternate-day practice. - Revise concepts weekly. - Solve 30–40 targeted practice questions per chapter. - Use them for building accuracy and speed.

Low Weightage (2–5%)

Attempt only after high/medium chapters are strong. - Focus on concept clarity (not depth). - Revise formulas and basic NCERT examples. - Practice 10–15 questions just for familiarity.

Very Low Weightage (<2%)

Can be skipped if short on time. - If time permits, cover basics only. - Revise formula sheets, but don’t over-invest.

Heya,

Yes, you can refill your category again. In the case of the April session JEE Main registration, you have the option to change your category while registering your details only once. You can switch from General to EWS if you have a proper certificate. Just be certain that the EWS certificate is granted before the last date of the April session form and complies with the NTA's requirements of validity.

Hope it helps!!!
