MET Counselling 2026 for BTech – MAHE has opened the MET 2026 document upload portal on April 29, 2026. The MET document portal link has been activated on the official website, counseling.manipal.edu. The MET 2026 counselling registration process will begin in the second week of June 2026. The counselling process will include registration and choice filling, followed by the seat allotment process, and will conclude with the payment of course fees. The Manipal Entrance Test is conducted for admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes. Before beginning the MET counselling process, candidates must make sure to have a valid eligibility criteria. Below the MET counselling 2026 eligibility criteria.
It is mandatory to have a minimum aggregate mark of 50 % in Physics, Mathematics and in any one of the optional subjects taken together. In each of these three subjects, candidates should have scored at least the minimum pass marks prescribed by the board.
MAHE will conduct the MET counselling 2026 for BTech in online mode. Eligible and shortlisted candidates first have to register for the MET 2026 counselling, complete choice filling, and upload the required documents. The authorities release the Manipal seat allotment 2026 for each round of MET counselling. Candidates can refer to the step-by-step detailed process of MET counselling and seat allotment below.
The following steps will be included in the counselling of MET 2026 and seat allotment-
Step 1: Registration- Candidates will first have to register for the MET counselling 2026 on the official website. Candidates will be required to enter all the required details for registration.
Step 2: Online Choice Filling/ Modification- Candidates will have to log in to the candidate portal using the application number, OTBS Password, and captcha code and select their preferred choices of campus and courses. Candidates can modify their choices of college and branch as per their preference.
Step 3: Documents Upload- Students have to upload the following documents in online mode for participate in the MET counselling and seat allotment 2026.
Transfer Certificate.
Aadhaar Card (Candidate’s Original).
PAN Card of the parents (Original).
Class 10 Mark Sheet (For Date of Birth Proof).
Class 12 Mark Sheet.
Conduct Certificate.
Candidate’s 2 Recent Passport Size Photograph.
Authorization Letter (in case a representative is attending on behalf of a candidate).
JEE Mains 2026 scorecard / SAT score / any state CET marks.

Step 4: Seat Allotment- The authorities allot seats based on their rank on the merit list. To check the status of their seat allotment of MET 2026, applicants have to use the candidate portal. Students who have been allotted a seat but want to upgrade will have to report to the allotted institute and select the option of participating in the next round. Those who will not be allotted any seat in previous rounds will automatically be considered for the next round of seat allotment.
Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted Institute- Students have to visit the allotted institute to complete the admission process. It is mandatory to carry the provisional MET seat allotment letter 2026 along with the necessary documents to the institute at the time of admission.
Candidates who have been allocated a seat in any institute can participate in the intra-institute sliding. Intra-institute sliding is the modification of allotted branches within the institute. Students have to do a fresh registration in the institute for the branch sliding. Students must note that Intra-Institute sliding is the only modification in the branch allotted to candidates in any institute and not any fresh allotment.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education will conduct the spot round counselling of the Manipal Entrance Test for the seats which remain vacant after the normal counselling rounds. Students who want to participate in the spot round counselling will have to register in online mode and report to the MET counselling 2026 venue as per the schedule. While doing the Manipal counselling registration for BTech, candidates will also be required to pay a fee of Rs 10,000 as a waitlist deposit, which is to be paid online during the MET counselling 2026 registration process. Once MET counselling fees are paid, candidates are eligible to dothe Manipal choice filling to participate in the online Manipal counselling 2026. On MET BTech counselling allotment results in any round, the 1st instalment fee has to be paid by the candidate within the timeline specified to confirm the seat allotment. On fee payment, the MET counselling fees paid at the time of registration will be converted into a refundable caution deposit, which is part of the Course fee. In case the candidate is not allotted any seat in any rounds of counselling, the waitlist deposit will be refunded within 1 month of completion of all rounds of the institute’s counselling process.
