The final list of admitted candidates has been released. The sixth round of seat allotment of JAC Delhi 2017 was also recently announced. In order to know the allotment status, candidates will have to login by using their JEE Main Roll number, password, and the security pin. JAC Delhi had announced the fifth and fourth round of seat allotment on July 18 and July 14, 2017 respectively. Online registration for JAC Delhi 2017 counselling had commenced on June 12, 2017. The first round of seat allotment was published on June 29 and the second round of allotment was released on July 6, while the third round was declared on July 10, 2017.  Admission to B. E. / B. Tech. Courses in DTU, IGDTUW and NSIT will be based on All India Rank (AIR) obtained by the candidate in JEE Main 2017 Paper I. Meanwhile, admission to B. Arch. Course in IGDTUW will be based on AIR in Paper II. Counselling for JAC Delhi 2017 will take place in six rounds, excluding Spot round, which is also the last round of counselling. To participate in JAC Delhi 2017 counselling, the candidate had to first pay the counselling-cum-registration fee of Rs. 1400. After payment, the candidate had to click on New Registration link and enter details like JEE Main 2017 roll number and DOB to access the registration form. The candidate had to fill the registration form and then enter choice fillings. To increase the probability of getting admission, the candidate had to select the maximum number of choices. The choices would get locked after registration period is over. Procedure of JAC Delhi Counselling 2017

 

 

The counselling of JAC Delhi 2017 comprises the following steps:

  • Payment of Counselling Fee

  • Online Registration

  • Log-in to JAC Account

  • Choice Filling

  • Choice Locking & Printing of Locked Choices

  • Allotment of B.E/ B.Tech seats

  • Allotment of B.Arch. Seats

Payment of registration-cum-counselling fee:

 

Before the candidate can register for counselling, he/she had to pay a non-refundable registration-cum-counselling fee of Rs. 1400/- (excluding bank charges).


To initiate fee payment for the online registration process, the candidate had to enter the following details:

The payment could be made either through online gateways or offline.


A. Online Mode

 

Online fee payment could be made using Credit / Debit Card / Internet Banking through BillDesk Payment Gateway. But the candidate had to bear the additional transactions charges that are applicable for using the service.

  • Credit / Debit Cards - 1.00% of the transaction amount plus Service Tax as applicable.

  • Internet Banking - Rs. 10/- plus Service Tax as applicable.

After successful submission of fee through this mode, the candidate could immediately proceed to registration.

 

B. Offline Mode through cash payment at any SBI Branch

 

The alternative way to pay the registration-cum-counselling fee for JAC Delhi 2017 was through cash payment at any branch of SBI through e-challan. The candidate had to pay the additional bank charge of Rs. 50 and the applicable service tax for using this mode.

 

Online Registration

After payment of the fee, the candidate had to go to the registration portal and follow the following steps to complete the registration process:

  • On the registration portal, click on the New Registration link

  • To access the Online Registration Form enter the following details:

  1. Roll number of JEE Main 2017

  2. Date of Birth

  3. Nationality

  4. Result status (Declared Pass) of Class 10+2

  • On the form that opens, the candidate had to enter basic details, which was used to fill choices and allot seats. The candidate also had to upload his/her photo (not more than 40 KB) and signature (20 KB) in JPEG format.

  • The JEE Main 2017 roll number was the "User ID" of the candidate

  • The e-mail ID and mobile number shared by the candidate must be active, these were used by JAC Delhi to communicate with the candidate.

Log-in to JAC account

The following details were displayed on the candidate's homepage, once the candidate logs into his/her JAC account:

  • Registration details

  • Edit Registration: Using this option, the candidate was able to make any corrections or updations to the information entered on the system

  • Available Choices: Depending on the eligibility of the candidate, information related to Institute and branch-wise availability of seats were displayed

  • Display filled choices: The choices entered by the candidate were also be displayed. It is advisable to choose the maximum number of options to stand a better chance at admission.

Choice Filling:

  • Every candidate who paid the registration-cum-counselling fee had to exercise choice filling of branch and institute.

  • The candidate could pick choices from the options generated as per his/her eligibility

  • Options had to be entered in order of preference. Also, it is advisable to enter the maximum number of choices to have a better chance at admission

  • Before filling the choices, the candidate was urged to check the fee structure and branches of every institute.

Note: Eligible female candidates who wanted to pursue B. Architecture Programme at IGDTUW needed to enter B.Arch. as one of the choices.

 

Choice Locking & Printing of Locked Choices

  • The choices entered by the candidate were locked automatically once the registration period expires

  • The candidate needed to take the printout of the filled choices after the closing of choice filling for the specific round of counselling.

Allotment of B.E/ B.Tech seats

  • The allotment of seats for B.E/ B.Tech seats started after the closing of online choice filling and will be based, in addition to other parameters, on All India Merit Rank in Paper 1 scores of JEE Main 2017.

Allotment of B.Arch. Seats

  • The allotment of B.Arch. seats, along with other parameters, were based on All India Merit Rank of the candidate in Paper II of JEE Main 2017. The order of preference opted by the candidate was also taken into account.

JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling: Declaration of Result of Seat Allotment

  • The result of seat allotment for every round was declared as per the counselling schedule. Candidates who have been allotted seats were sent provisional allotment letter at their official JAC account. The candidate needs to log-in to his/her accounts and take a printout of the letter.

  • The candidate must bear in mind that the allotment is purely provisional.

  • Verification of documents and payment of admission fee: The seat will be confirmed only after verification of original certificates and the applicable, at the time of reporting at the assigned institute.

JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling: Payment of Admission Fee

 

Candidates who have been allotted seats are required to deposit an initial amount of Rs. 75,000 either through online mode or through SBI e-challan at any SBI Branch. To initiate the admission fee payment process, the candidate needs to log in to his/her JAC account.

 

Note: Payment made through Demand Draft/ Cheques/ Cash are not accepted.

 

JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling: Reporting at allotted institute

  • Candidates who have been allotted provisional seats have to report at the allotted institute on the assigned date and time along with fee payment receipt and original documents.

  • If the candidate does not report at the institute within the specified time and bring along the original documents, his/her seat stands cancelled.

  • If a candidate does not take admission in the provisionally allotted branch or institute, the candidate will not be considered for admission in any of the remaining rounds, except for Spot round.

  • Candidates who have not been allotted a seat can participate in the Spot round on payment of a refundable/adjustable participating fee of Rs. 10,000 though online mode only.    

JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling: Rules of Upgradation

  • A candidate will be automatically upgraded, as per his/her merit in JEE(Main)-2017,  to his preferred choice if there are vacant seats.

  • In such cases where a candidate has already been admitted and gets upgraded in a subsequent round, do not have to report at the upgraded institute.

  • Only those candidates who have been admitted up to the completion of the third round will be considered for upgradation.

  • Freezing: If a candidate is happy with the seat allotted and does not want to be upgraded in subsequent rounds, he/she must request JAC authorities in writing to freeze the allotted seat on the day of admission/allotment of the branch.

JAC Delhi  2017 Counselling Rules for Each Round

 

The counselling process for each individual round, including Spot Round, is explained below.

 

First Round of JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling

  • The choices entered during registration by the candidates were processed centrally and the institute wise cutoffs have been released for seat allotment.

  • The online Provisional Admission letter had been sent to the candidate's login account if the seat is allotted in this round. The candidate had to take a print out of the allotment letter.

  • Candidates who were offered provisional allotment in this round had to pay the requisite fee and report and the allotted institute for document verification and fee payment receipt.

Second Round of JAC Delhi Counselling 2017

Fresh registrations were not allowed in this round. For this round, counselling was conducted to fill vacant seats left after the first round.

 

Eligibility to appear in Round 2 JAC 2017 Counselling:

  • Type I: Candidates who weren’t allotted any seats in the first round were considered in the second round

  • Type II: Candidates who were allotted seats in the first round, paid the admission fee, and had their documents verified, but are expecting seat upgradation

Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round of JAC Delhi Counselling 2017

 

The counselling process for these rounds will the same as those followed in Round 1. For those candidates who are admitted in the sixth round will not be eligible for fee refund. 

 

Spot Round of JAC Delhi 2017 Counselling

 

The Spot round was conducted to fill any vacancies that may arise as a result of upgradation of seats in DTU, NSIT, IIIT-D & IGDTUW. (Within category/ sub-category).

 

Eligibility Criteria to appear in Spot Round

  • The candidate should not have taken admission up to the last round.

  • Those candidates who were not been offered a seat in any of the previous rounds are eligible.

  • If a candidate had forfeited his/her seat after taking admission before the withdrawal deadline can also apply in this round

  • Registered candidates who were allotted seats but did not report for admission at DTU / NSIT / IIITD / IGDTUW, did exercise choice filling during Online Registration Process and candidates who have been offered the seat in any of the preceding rounds but the seat was cancelled for some reason.
