GATE Cutoff 2025 - IIT Roorkee has uploaded the subject wise GATE cutoff 2025 on the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The complete list of GATE cutoff 2025 for 30 papers is provided in this article as well. Candidates can find the category wise cutoff of GATE 2025 for different subjects here. The authority had declared the GATE 2025 cutoff along with the results. The GATE result 2025 was declared on March 19. The GATE cutoff is the minimum score to clear the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Students who qualify the GATE 2025 exam will be considered for admission to IIT, NITS, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Each institute will release the admission cutoffs after each round of the COAP 2025 counselling. The GATE qualifying cutoff is different from the admission cutoff of different institutes. Candidates can check the cutoff for GATE 2025 on this page. GATE cutoff 2025 will be available for EC, CS, MA, DA, PH, CH, MN and all other papers. It is important to note that two types of cutoffs will be released for the GATE exam: the qualifying GATE 2025 cutoff and the admission cutoff for GATE 2025. The differences between the qualifying and admission cutoff marks 2025 of GATE are specified below.
GATE 2025 Qualifying Cutoff Vs GATE 2025 Admission Cutoff: Students appearing in GATE must know the difference between the GATE qualifying cutoff 2025 and GATE 2025 admission cutoff.
GATE cutoff marks for IIT and NIT will be released in the form of opening and closing ranks. After the declaration of GATE results, IITs and NITs will start the MTech admission process separately. The admission is done through JoSAA 2025 counselling. After the application and interview, institutes will release the GATE opening and closing rank.

On analysing the GATE cutoff for the year 2021 and 2020; the cutoffs for most of the subjects were decreased from the previous year. For example, the GATE cutoff for CSE was 28.5 in 2020 while it decreased to 26.1 in 2021. Seeing the trend, candidates can predict the GATE CSE 2023 expected cutoff.
The analysis given below depicts the changes in the qualifying GATE Cutoff 2020 vs 2019. The official GATE result statistics have announced that only 18.8% of candidates have qualified in the exam. There have been many surprises in the GATE cutoffs, with many showing a drastic lowering and some showing an increase. Only Mathematics has shown no changes in the GATE cutoff. The exam conducting authority considers several factors to deduce the final GATE cut off marks. Below is the list of factors that determine the GATE exam cutoff marks
IIT Roorkee will release the GATE qualifying cutoff while the admission cutoff will be released by the participating institutes. GATE qualifying marks are the minimum cutoff to qualify for the entrance test to be eligible for the admission process. The qualifying marks of GATE 2025 will vary for each category. On the other hand, the GATE admission cutoff will be released by COAP and CCMT. Candidates who rank in GATE more than the admission cutoff will be offered admission.
GATE 2025 cutoff is decided by considering various factors such as number of applicants, availability of seats, difficulty level of exam and performance of candidates. The conducting institute decides the cutoff in consultation with other responsible authorities.
