UPTAC 2025 Counselling Process

Below is the detailed process of counselling for UPTAC 2025.

  1. Registration: Register on the official website. After successful registration, upload the required personal and academic details, and pay the counselling fee.

  1. Document Verification: The Central Document Verification Team will verify the documents and after successful verification, an SMS/e-mail will be sent to the candidate as a receipt.
  2. Choice Filling: Log in to the UPTAC counselling 2025 portal using your registration ID and password to access the choice filling section. Select preferred colleges and courses from the available options.
  3. Seat Allotment: The authorities will release the seat allotment result online. Candidates will be able to check their seat allotment results using login credentials.
  4. Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment: Once the seat allotment is done, candidates will have the option to Freeze or Float the Allotted Seat, for which candidates have to pay a Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 20000 (General and OBC)/Rs. 12000 (SC & ST). Once the payment of the acceptance fee is done seat acceptance information will be generated. If you accept the seat allotment, you must accept the offered seat by paying the required admission fees within the specified time.
  5. Online willingness - If a candidate is not satisfied with the allotment of seats, he/she can follow the below process.
  • Freeze: When a candidate chooses to "freeze", it means they accept the seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds of seat allotment.
  • Float: By selecting the “float” option, the candidate keeps their allocated seat but remains eligible for further rounds of counselling.
  • Withdrawal: By choosing a “Withdrawal” candidate can cancel their participation in the counselling process.
  1. Reporting to the Allotted College: After accepting the seat and completing the fee payment, report to the allotted college within the given period. Carry all the necessary documents for verification and complete the admission formalities.

UPTAC 2025 Counselling Rules and Guidelines

  • Academic Eligibility: Candidates should have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% marks in SC/ST category) in Physics & Mathematics (Compulsory subjects) and Chemistry/ Bio-Technology / Biology/ Technical Vocational subject (Any one subject).
  • Exam passed: Candidates must have cleared the JEE Main entrance exam conducted by NTA.
  • Age limit: There is no age limit for participation in counselling for UPTAC.
  • Domicile: If the candidate has passed the qualifying exam outside the U.P. they must upload a domicile certificate of their parents at the time of registration and physical reporting.
  • Fee: The counselling registration fee for counselling is Rs. 1000/.
  • The seat allotment will be based on merit, choices filling and availability of seats
  • The counselling fee is non-refundable (except withdrawal from counselling), even if the candidate does not report to the allotted institutions.
  • While filling out the counselling form, candidates must upload scanned images of the latest colour photograph and signature. Applications with blurred photographs will be rejected.
  • 20% of the total seats are available for admission in the first year in all courses in institutions affiliated with AKTU without reservation. These seats will be filled based on merit in the respective exams.
