The TS POLYCET qualifying cut-off is the minimum mark that candidates must obtain to be considered eligible for the exam. General category candidates must score at least 36 marks out of 120 (i.e., 30%) to qualify. However, there are no minimum marks prescribed for SC/ST or OBC category candidates. Those who achieve these minimum passing marks will be deemed qualified for the exam.
On the other hand, the TS POLYCET admission cut-off marks are the minimum marks required for admission to an institute. Candidates must secure a score higher than the admission cut-off to secure a seat in their desired institute. The qualifying marks ensure eligibility, while the admission cut-off determines the likelihood of getting a seat based on merit and availability.
Category of the candidate | Minimum percentage | Minimum marks |
General | 30 percent | 36 marks |
SC | No minimum percentage criteria | No minimum marks criteria |
ST | No minimum percentage criteria | No minimum marks criteria |
The factors determining the TS POLYCET 2025 cut-off marks change annually. The cut-off marks are influenced by several key factors, which candidates should keep in mind:
The number of applicants: A higher number of candidates applying for the TS POLYCET exam typically results in a higher cut-off.
Exam difficulty: If the exam is more difficult, the cut-off may be lower, while an easier exam could lead to a higher cut-off.
Seat availability: Fewer available seats can lead to a higher cut-off, whereas more seats might result in a lower cut-off.
Candidate demographics: The type and preparedness of candidates appearing for the exam can also impact the cut-off marks.

On Question asked by student community
You wrote TS POLYCET 2025 and your rank is 49,795. You belong to BCA category. With this rank, it is a little difficult to get a seat in top government polytechnic colleges in branches like CSE or Mechanical because their closing ranks are usually lower than your rank.
For example, in Government Polytechnic Warangal, the closing rank for Mechanical Engineering for BCA category was around 49,042. That is just slightly better than your rank, so it may not be possible to get that seat.
But you may still have a chance to get a seat in some other government polytechnic colleges in less demanded branches like Agriculture, Pharmacy, or other diploma programs.
You should wait for all the rounds of counselling. If you don’t get a seat in round 1, you might get one in round 2 or further rounds if some seats remain unfilled.
Here is the website where you can check your allotment and college options
