I HAVE ONE DOUBT WHY ALL COLLEGES REDUCE MARKS IN ACADEMICS EVEN IN ONLINE EXAM WITH CORRECT ANSWERS
Hello,
when you answer a question you should ensure that you give the exact points and present it in a presentable manner by listing out important points, marking imprtant lines, including diagrams and markings, etc.
When an invigilator corrects your answer he/she may have some idea of what they expect to see in the paper and when your answer lacks that point then they reduce your marks.
Full marks will only be given to the most perfect answer. So next time when you loose marks make sure that you discuss with your faculty to understand where you can improve. It may also happen that they may have made some mistake while grading so check for such mistakes and notify them of the same.
Good Luck

Hello Aspirant,
If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the marks mentioned by you in the question your rank and percentile is expected to be in the range of 34966 - 27838 and 92-95 respectively, you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile
Or
You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
First of all there is no IT branch in NIT Durgapur and as we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that the closing SC rank for NIT Durgapur was 5224 for Mechanical branch in NIT Durgapur under Home state quota for SC category. So as per your CRL rank you have some chances that you might get NIT Durgapur with Mechanical engineering branch.
You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Good Luck!!
Hi, I had a doubt in JEE marks calculation that how are marks calculated. Please guide me how much total marks I could get if I have attempted 49 questions overall and out of which if I consider all my 15 numerical type questions to be wrong and if I consider 10 MCQ question to be wrong.
As per the latest JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates have to attempt only 75 questions. Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions and students have to attempt only 5 of them Numerical questions don't have negative marking.
If you have attempted all the numerical types incorrectly then there will be no negative marking for it. For mcqs 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. So you attempted 34 mcqs out of which 24 are correct which will get you 24*4 = 96 marks and you have 10 incorrect mcqs so negative marking will give 96-10= 86. Therefore your final score will be 86 out of 300.
