How will MHT CET 2020 score calculated?

In order to calculate the score of MHT CET 2020, the authorities will use a normalization procedure for declaring the ranks of the candidates. The MHT CET 2020 scores will be declared in form of percentile which will be ranging from 0 to 100. For the candidates who are unaware, percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of the candidates who appeared for the entrance test. The topper of exam will get a Percentile of 100. The marks obtained in between the highest and lowest scores will also be converted to appropriate Percentiles. Candidates with lower most scores will get Percentile of 0.

Authorities will calculate percentile scores of candidate’s upto five decimal places. The formula that will be used to calculate MHT CET 2020 score is:

MHT CET Percentile Score = 100 * (Number of candidates in exam with normalized marks ≤ the candidate) ÷ Total number of candidates in the exam.

To understand the conversion or calculation of the scores, candidates can read the below example:

Let assume in MHT CET PCM 286167 students appeared for entrance test. To calculate the MHT CET rank 2020:

First know the percentage of candidate ahead of you (that is, candidate having higher percentile scores). To calculate that the formula would be 100 (which is the highest score) minus your percentile score.

Since the percentile is calculated from a scale ranging from 100 to 0, the formula applies the total number of students which is 286167 /100 multiplied by the percentage of candidates who are ahead of you.

So, the formula to calculate the rank is

Probable Rank = (100- percentile score) X 286167 /100

If percentile score is 90.70, rank will be (100-90.70) X 286167/100 = 25945
