COVID-19 outbreak results in the postponed dates of JEE Main 2020

COVID-19 i.e. coronavirus has rapidly spread across the world including India. At present, India has 258 positive cases and the situation is getting alarming day by day. This widespread outbreak of coronavirus has resulted in almost a complete shutdown and lock down in the country, the government has closed schools, colleges, cinemas, malls, etc. till March 31. The government is trying every possible thing to combat the situation like observing Janata Curfew on March 22. Along with all these steps, the coronavirus outbreak has led to postponement of various engineering entrance exams and JEE Main is one of them. Because of COVID-19 , the National Testing Agency has announced to postpone JEE Main 2020 which was scheduled to be conducted on April 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11. Now the exam will be conducted in the last week of May.

Now, as the exam has been postponed, the entire schedule of the April session of the exam will be changed and the new schedule will be announced with the new exam dates.

Can JEE Main 2020 be conducted through home?

As coronavirus is spreading rapidly, speculations are being made if authorities can conduct JEE Main 2020 exam through homes. It can be said if the conditions get worse, authorities may resort to the alternative of conducting the exam through homes. The exam is already being conducted as a computer-based exam. However, this can be adopted as a last resort.

Can COVID-19 result in cancellation of JEE Main 2020?

Although COVID-19 is at an alarming stage but there is a very little possibility that JEE Main 2020 is cancelled. The authorities will try to conduct the exam in every possible way as the January session has already been conducted. So, it is almost not possible that the authorities will cancel the exam.

Here is a list of the toughest JEE Main question papers from the past years based on student reviews and expert analysis. These shifts are widely considered the hardest because maths was very lengthy, physics was tricky, and chemistry had unpredictable questions.

For 2024, the toughest papers were 4 April Shift 1, 8 April Shift 2, 9 April Shift 1 and 6 April Shift 2.
