Difference Between JEE Main Marks and Percentile 2026

Students often get confused between the JEE Main marks, percentile and score. Percentile and NTA score are the same. The marks or raw marks is simple calculated by adding 4 marks for all the correct answers and removing one mark for all the wrong answers. Hence, JEE Main marks will be out of 360. Whereas the percentile is calculated using the normalisation formula. It will be out of 100 only. Aspirants must note the following details which are mentioned in the JEE scorecard. The JoSAA counselling will be conducted based on ranks only.

  • JEE Main scorecard for session 1- NTA score/percentile overall and subject wise
  • Final JEE Main scorecard (after session 2)- NTA score/percentile overall and subject wise, AIR as per common rank list and category wise list (if applicable)
