While top NITs like Trichy , Warangal , and Surathkal may be out of reach for branches like CSE and ECE due to their much  lower closing ranks for OBC , there are still good options available. He has a fair chance of getting branches like Civil, Mechanical or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in mid to lower -tier NITs such as Puducherry , Arunachal Pradesh , Meghalaya and Mizoram .In IIITs and GFTIs , which usually have higher closing ranks , he may get core branches like r ECE in newer or less competitive campuses such as Bhagalpur , Kalyani  or GFTIs as Assam University or Gurukula Kangri .
