There are approximately 56407 seats in KEAM for Engineering.
Candidates allotted seats have to pay Rs.10,000.
A total of 79,044 students appeared for KEAM 2024.
For KEAM 2025 admissions, General category candidates need to score at least 50% marks in total, while SC/ST candidates must secure a minimum of 40% of marks in aggregate to meet the cutoff requiremnets.
Devanand P secured the first rank with a score of 591.6145 out of 600. Hafiz Rahman Elikkottil is the second rank holder, also with 591.6145 marks.
Exam Date:15 January,2025 - 31 July,2025
Counselling Date:21 July,2025 - 26 July,2025
With a KEAM rank of 43,930, getting a CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) seat in top government colleges in Kerala is very difficult, especially in general category. But you still have good chances in:
1. Private self-financing colleges in Kerala
You can get CSE or related branches like CSE-AI, IT, or ECE in private colleges during later rounds or spot admission.
2. Management quota or NRI quota
These seats are easier to get but usually have higher fees.
3. Lower-demand branches or newer colleges
If you're open to joining newer colleges or slightly less popular ones, you may still get a CSE seat.
4. Consider related branches
If CSE is not available, you can try IT, ECE, or CSE specializations like Cybersecurity or AI, which may have slightly lower closing ranks.
What to do next:
Wait for all rounds of KEAM counselling and also check individual college cutoffs during each round.

As computer science is one of the most sought-after courses, the rank list is quite high. Therefore, the best colleges limit their ranking to under 10,000. However, IHRD colleges are a perfect option, offering both moderate fees and a good educational setup. Private colleges are a good option if you can get a management seat. Some good options for CSE are the College of Engineering, Kottarakkara; Saint Gits College
Depending on the type of engineering, it can go from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, to the Model College of Engineering. In case of CSE colleges like the model, CEC is a good option. Colleges like CET, TKM, and GEC Thrissur can be opted for Electronics, Electrical, and other trades.
Hello Asprirant,
No, it is not an issue if you fail to get a college in the first allotment process of KEAM. You still have chances in the next allotment processes and make sure you correctly filled in your options and keep in touch with the official KEAM dates for the next allotment process.
