The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has postponed the release of the Graduate Admission Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 admit card due to unknown reasons. The institute did not announced any reasons for the delay. However, it has notified that the exam hall ticket release date will be announced soon for MTech students.
Candidates who meet the GATE cutoff are eligible to participate in the counselling process for admission to M.Tech courses. It is important to note that the GATE qualifying cutoff is different from the admission cutoff. Those who seek IIT admission have to register for the GATE COAP. For admission to NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and some IIITs and CFTIs, the authority conducts CCMT counselling.
