The question paper was not lengthy and most of the students finished the paper in time. Some students felt that CBT is helpful to students. The paper was easy but questions were a bit tricky. Compared to last year the difficulty level of this year's exam was not high. Algorithm, complexity, data structure and computer organizations had some really tricky questions. There were very few numerical questions and focus was more on theoretical questions.
According to the students who attempted the Electrical Engineering paper of GATE 2020, the paper was moderate to tough in difficulty level. Most of the questions were from Electrical Machines, followed by Signals and Systems and Power Electronics. Around 14 questions were difficult in nature while the others were mostly of average difficulty. The most difficult questions were from Analog Electronics. Questions were not directly but candidates had to think creatively. Expected cutoff is around 25.
The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate to difficult. The easy questions could be easily attempted. There were more numerical and geometrical questions. As compared to last year, the paper was difficult. However, the distribution of questions in GATE 2020 CSE paper was equal.
