Quick Analysis of GATE 2019 

As per experts and media reports, most of the GATE 2019 papers ranged between moderate to tough in terms of difficulty level. The two papers of CE was found to be easy in the general aptitude section while the technical section was of moderate difficulty. Candidates who appeared for the two session of ME paper were conflicted as some found it easy while others found it tough. ECE paper was also reported to be of moderate difficulty.

GATE Exam Pattern 2019

Candidates are suggested to go through the exam pattern of GATE 2019 before going through the analysis of the paper.  

  • GATE 2019 was conducted in online mode.

  • IIT Madras conducted each paper of GATE 2019 for the duration of 3 hours. Moreover, each paper consisted of a total of 65 questions. The GATE 2019 paper consisted of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

  • Each paper of GATE 2019 carries total 100 marks. 

  • Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct MCQs carrying 1 mark, while 1/3 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. For 2 mark MCQs, 2/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong response. There is no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

GATE Cutoff 2019

Apart from knowing analysis of paper, it is equally important for candidates to know GATE 2019 cutoff. The cutoff of GATE 2019 is the qualifying score/marks which candidates must secure in order to get a seat in M.Tech programmes across IITs/NITs and other institutions. Knowing GATE 2019 cutoff will help candidates to know how much candidates need to secure in order to get admission to M.Tech/M.E. or a job in PSUs based on GATE scores. Candidates can also check GATE Cutoff for IITs and the GATE Cutoff for NITs to know more in detail. Candidates interested in recruitment at PSUs can check the GATE cutoff for PSUs. IIT Madras will be releasing the cutoff of GATE as per the different categories. Meanwhile, candidates can go through previous year GATE cutoff for different categories as per the different branches of engineering.

GATE 2018 answer key will be released tentatively in the third week of February. With the release of answer key candidates can calculate their probable scores using GATE score predictor. GATE 2019 score predictor tool be developed by Careers360 team to predict candidates scores on the basis of the inputs they enter in the tool.  The result of GATE 2019 for all 24 papers will be announced on March 16 by IIT Madras. In order to check the result candidates will have to log in to GOAPS portal and enter their registration ID, enrolment number and date of birth to download their scorecard.

If you looking for Job then the best alternative for GATE exam is the UPSC IES examination which is conducted for engineering graduates.This is the best way possible you can get a job and that too in government of India and also there is a long list if perks and perquisites you will get once to crack IES examination.

You can upload the photo again even after the closure of the gate application submission.High quality image must be uploaded in the application.Background and sign should be white.Reuploading facility is also available.website will reopen and you can upload

As you are still in your 3rd year, you might not be still aware of the complete GATE syllabus. So analyse the topics and syllabus that you have learnt for the past 3 years and practise as much Mathematics as you can. Try as many mock tests as possible and get a hang of the exam pattern. Hi, Regarding Gate application correction form, right now there is no option to change my category details. Will it be provided in the future? I had incorrectly selected GEN, but it is OBC/NCL. Thanks in advance.

Dear Harish, IIT Delhi has scheduled diiferent correction windows for different correction categories. The tentative dates to make corrections to your Category would be from the last week of October to 1st week of November. This is tentative and so please keep an eye on the official website. You can change your Category but you will not be refunded any additional amount that you paid towards your application form. can I apply for the gate exam now?

Dear Pramod, IIT Delhi has closed registrations for GATE 2020 as on October 5th, 2019 along with late fees. Now the correction window has been opened. At this juncture, registering for GATE 2020 is not a possibility. You may have to wait until the next year if you  plan on appearing for GATE. For GATE 2020, you have been late.
