TS PGECET CounsellingTS PGECET Counselling 2017 – The second round of TS PGECET 2017 counselling had commenced on August 26, 2017 and the authorities have now announced the seat allotment result. Candidates can log in by entering their Hall ticket number along with their rank in TS PGECET or GATE to check their allotment. The result of the first allotment of TS PGECET 2017 was announced on August 16, 2017. The counselling of TS PGECET 2017 was conducted by Osmania University had started with document verification and web option entry from August 5, 2017. In order to participate in TS PGECET 2017 counselling, the candidates had to first get their documents verified at the help centres and pay the counselling fee. After documents verification and fee payment, they could exercise their web options as per the schedule given below. The counselling of TS PGECET 2017 is based on the scores of the candidates in TS PGECET 2017. Candidates who have applied on the basis of their GATE scores will be allotted seats on the basis of the same. Admissions are offered to over 15,000 M.Tech/M.E. seats across the participating institutes on the basis of TS PGECET / GATE.  Two rounds of counselling of TS PGECET 2017 was held and an open round for filling the vacant seats may be conducted, if there remain any after the two rounds.

TS PGECET 2017 Seat Allotment:

  • Seat allotment announced is final and cannot be changed or altered under any circumstances.

  • Candidates should log in and take printout of the seat allotment letter from the web. After taking the print out, the candidates must report to the respective colleges on or before the date notified in the allotment letter. If candidates fail to be present physically or report to the allotted college by the stipulated date, their seat will be cancelled.

  • Candidates must carry the original documents to the allotted institute along with the fees to be paid to confirm the seat.

Step-by-step procedure of TS PGECET counselling 2017

 

Step 1 – Verification of documents at the Helpline Centres:

 Procedure to follow for TS PGECET Document verification

  • Candidates were called for registration of counselling as per their ranks in TS PGECET 2017.

  • They had to sign in the register and pay the processing fee of Rs 1000 ( Rs 500 for SC/ST candidates). Further, they were required to proceed for certificate verification.

  • Candidates had to check the table given above for the schedule for document verification and counselling fee payment. They had to to be present at the helpline centres as per the notified time and date with all the required documents and fee.

  • Note: Candidates had to show the original certificates at the time of verification of certificates and also had to carry Xerox/photocopies of the certificates to submit.

  • They were also required to furnish a valid mobile number at the time of document verification, as they were sent One Time Password (OTP) for web option entry on the mobile number.

  • After certificate verification, the candidates were given a receipt from the counter. Candidates should not forget to collect this receipt. While collecting the receipt, the candidates had to cross-check all details on it like mobile number, local area, gender, caste category, minority, parental income, date of birth, special category, eligible degree, specialization, etc.

  • If they find any discrepancy in the receipt, they had to bring it to the notice of Camp Officer/Co-ordinator immediately for rectification, as seat allotment will depend on the accuracy of this data.

TS PGECET 2017 documents required for verification:

  • GATE Score Card

  • TS PGECET 2017 Hall Ticket/Admit Card

  • TS PGECET 2017 Rank Card

  • Transfer Certificate

  • Study certificates from 10th class to Graduation

  • Memo of SSC or its equivalent certificate

  • Degree Certificate & Memorandum of marks of qualifying Exam

  • Residence certificate for preceding 7 years of the qualifying examination for candidates who have completed their graduation through private study without any institutionalized education

  • Residence Certificate of father or mother for a period of 10 years in Telangana/A.P. excluding the period of their employment outside Telangana/A.P. from M.R.O. in case of candidates who studied outside the state of Telangana/AP

  • Integrated community certificate issued by the competent authority in case of BC/SC/ST candidates

  • Income Certificate issued after Jan 1, 2017

  • Minorities – Degree TC containing minority status

  • Residence certificate from MRO for a period of 10 years of either parent for non-locals

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income certificate issued by MRO after 01-01-2017 will only be considered

Important Points pertaining to TS PGECET Web Counselling 2017:

  • Before they started entering options, candidates had to check college codes carefully.

  • On a white sheet, they had to write the college codes in the order of preference before entering options into web. Candidates had to avoid selecting colleges which are not of their interest.

  • Candidates had to avoid the use of mobiles and tablets to exercise the option entry. Only the computer had to be used for option entry. Internet with slow speed should also have been avoided. 

TS PGECET 2017 Web Option Entry Process for Counselling:

  • Candidates could select/enter their option entry from helpline centre/home/any other place with internet facility.

  • The candidates were sent a 6-letter code (One Time Password) on their registered mobile number after exercising option entry and clicking on the save button.

  • Now, they had to click on the Web Options link to exercising the options.

  • They were required to enter the Hall Ticket Number, Rank of TS PGECET 2017 and the registered Mobile Number.

  • Candidates could get option form displayed in front of them with college options on the left side with specialisation. 

  • Candidates had to use the two types of filters available to minimize the selection list.

  • Select the preferred college on left window and click to add it to the right side, which signifies as option number one. The rest options were added in the same manner as per the preference of the candidates. The priority list of selected/entered options was displayed on the right side window.

  • Candidates could use the facility of modifying and deleting the options entered.

  • After the selection of priorities and option entry finalisation, click on Save button and enter the password sent to the candidates through SMS on their registered mobile. Use the virtual key board available on the screen for clicking on Save button and then click on Confirm button.

Selected options were saved in the Server, while the saved options were displayed in printed format.

  • Candidates had to verify and take printouts of the selected colleges/saved options by clicking on the Print option link.

  • The registered options in the server were automatically frozen on the last day as specified and were used for seat allotment of TS PGECET 2017.

 

TS PGECET Counselling 2017 for NCC/CAP/SPORTS/PH:

 

Venue: A.V. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Gaganmahal, Hyderabad,Telangana

 

PH Category: Candidates have to bring a certificate by the District Medical Board. Only such candidates will be considered eligible who have disability of 40% or above.

 

CAP Category: For CAP category, Ex-Servicemen have to produce

  • Service Certificate issued by Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer

  • Identity Card

  • Discharge Book for verification.

  • Serving person has to produce Service Certificate from the place of Work indicating the relationship with the Candidate.

CAP Category benefits can be availed by only those candidates whose parents are domicile of Telangana.

 

NCC Category: For availing benefits of NCC category, the candidates have to bring along the  concerned certificates along with A, B, C certificate(s).

 

Who can participate in TS PGECET 2017 Counselling Phase – II

  • Candidates who wish to move to another college than the seat already allotted to them earlier in Phase I of TS PGECET 2017 web based counselling.

  • Candidates participated in phase I/prior phase of TS PGECET counselling 2017, but could not secure a seat.

  • Candidates who could not participate in Phase I/prior phase despite being called for TS PGECET counselling 2017

  • Candidates who could not report to the allotted seat in the first phase.

  • Candidates who cancelled their allotted seats/admission of Phase I

Important points related to Phase II of TS PGECET 2017 Counselling:

  • The options exercised by the candidates in Phase I were not considered for phase II. They had to exercise fresh options in each phase of the web based counselling.

  • If satisfied with the allotted seats in Phase I, they could not exercise their options again.

  • Candidates had to exercise options for preferred colleges (even if it shows/reflects no vacancies), as vacancies could come up due to sliding, cancellation and conversions.

  • Candidates getting a seat/allotment in Phase II have to surrender the seat allotted in Phase I of counselling.

  • For cancellation of the allotted seats after Phase II of admission, have to approach the principal of the respective college.

  • Seats remaining vacant after seat allotment for GATE/GPAT candidates will be available for TS PGECET 2017 candidates.
