TS PGECET 2026 Counselling Eligibility

Aspirants must verify the eligibility criteria of TS PGECET counselling 2026 for admission to the participating institutes. The eligibility criteria to take part in the TS PGECET counselling are-

• Candidates should be of Indian Nationality.

• They should belong to the State of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh.

• Students must satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the admission regulations.

• Applicants must have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the qualifying exam.

TS PGECET Counselling 2026

Candidates must note that the authority conducts separate counselling for GATE and TS PGECET 2026 qualified candidates. Candidates must qualify for either of the two exams with valid scores to participate in the counselling of TS PGECET 2026. Applicants who qualified GATE examination in 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible for the counselling process for Telangana MTech colleges. The seat allotment to the participating institutes will be done through the counselling process.

Procedure of TS PGECET 2026 Counselling (GATE qualified candidates)

• TS PGECET Registration and Fee Payment: First, the candidates have to register and pay the counselling fee of Rs. 1200 (Rs. 600 for reserved category) online mode. Candidates will have the choice to complete the registration process on their own or at the help centres. An email address and mobile number have to be provided during registration.

• Filling of Application Form: In the next step, the candidates will have to enter their personal, academic, and contact details. A recent colour passport-size photograph, along with a GATE (GPAT, in case applying for M.Pharm) hall ticket, has to be scanned and uploaded in the application form. A printout should be taken for future use.

• Verification of Documents: Candidates have to upload scanned images of documents. However, special category candidates will have to report at the TS PGECET 2026 help centres for physical verification as per the schedule.

• Choice Filling: Once verification of documents is done, the candidates will have to fill in their choice of courses and colleges online. The selection has to be done in the order of preference. The list of seats will be available as per the candidate’s rank, and they will have to select their preference.

• Allotment of Seats: Finally, the authority will allot seats as per the ranks secured, preferences, category and availability of seats. Details about the seat allotment will be available in online mode. The selected candidates will have to download their provisional allotment letter and report to their respective institutes on the prescribed date and time. To confirm the admission, the candidates will also have to pay the required fee and submit the documents.

What are the certificates required at the time of TS PGECET counselling 2026 registration?

• GATE Score/GPAT/PGECET Rank Card

• SSC Pass Memo or its Equivalent for proof of Date of Birth

• Provisional Certificate

• Transfer Certificate

• Aadhaar Card

• Consolidated marks memo or memorandum of marks, semester-wise

• Study certificates from 10th class to Graduation

• Residence certificate for the preceding 7 years of the qualifying examination i.e. Graduation in respect of candidates who have private study without any institutionalised education

• Integrated community certificate issued by the competent authority in case of BC/SC/ST candidates, if applicable

• Residence certificate from M. R. O of either of the parents in Telangana for 10 years in case of non-local candidates

• In respect of Non-Local candidates to consider them for allotment under unreserved seats, the following certificates need to be submitted

• Integrated community certificate (Caste Certificate)

• The Muslim and Christian Minority Candidates should upload the “TC” of the SSC containing Minority status (or) in the absence of TC, a Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution in which the student studied/appeared for SSC or its equivalent examination.

• NCC / CAP / PH / SPORTS

• Income Certificate

For non-local candidates (for allotment under unreserved seats)

• Residence Certificate: Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of 10 years, excluding periods of study outside the State; or either of whose parents has resided in the State for a total period of 10 years, excluding periods of employment outside the State. (OR)

• Employer Certificate: Applicants who are children of parents who are in the employment by this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local bodies, Universities and other similar Quasi Public Institutions within the State at the time of applying for GATE/GPAT/TS PGECET- 2026) examination.

Procedure of TS PGECET Counselling 2026 (TS PGECET qualified candidates)

Step 1 - Registration and Verification of Documents: In the first step, the qualified candidates have to register and upload the scanned documents for verification. The counselling fee of Rs. 1200 (Rs. 600 for the reserved category) also has to be paid in online mode.

• 10th and 12th standard certificates and mark sheets

Step 2 - Filling of Choices: Candidates will next have to log in using their TS PGECET 2026 hall ticket number and rank. The choice filling has to be done by the candidates online or by visiting the help centres. Students will have to make their choices based on their preferences.

Step 3 - Seat Allotment: The candidates will be able to access the seat allotment result in online mode. The provisional allotment letter has to be downloaded by the candidates and taken to their respective institutes where confirmation of admission has to be done. Another round of seat allotment will be held if the seats remain vacant.

What is the eligibility criteria for the second round of TS PGECET 2026 Counselling?

• Allotted candidates who wish to get admission to another participating institute

• Candidates who participated in the first round of TS PGECET counselling 2026 but were not allotted any seat

• Those candidates who were not able to participate in the first round of TS PGECET counselling

• Candidates allotted in the first round but did not pay the required fee or report to their respective allotted institute
