My Gate Score is 686 (EWS GEN) AIR 2852 in Mechanical Engineering. Are there any chances in old IITs?

Aman Raj Student Expert 4th Apr, 2020

Hello Prasad

Chances are bleak but still i will say that you can try in IIT BHU.  I am again saying that chances are only 3 to 4 percent but still.

If you want old IIT's then you can opt for MS or wait till winter Session where you can apply for older IIT's with this Rank, with very less competition.

Anantika Kushwaha 4th Apr, 2020
Hello Aspirant,

You have a chance at IITs. However you might not get the top stream there. As the cut off for every stream differs. You can also try out at the new IITs with VLSI as your preference. You have a nice chance at NITs as well.
