The candidates will have to fill and submit the application form till April 15, 2018. IIT Madras M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2018
All candidates should have qualified GATE 2018 examination or should have graduated from any IIT to be eligible for admissions into M.Tech courses of IIT Madras. The eligibility criteria for GATE qualified candidates and IIT graduates will be different.
GATE Qualified Candidates
The candidate should have qualified GATE and should hold a valid score. The application form of GATE 2018 was released on August 31 and closed on October 9, 2017 (8 pm).
Should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture from institutions approved by AICTE/Government OR a Master’s degree in Chemistry/Life Sciences/Mathematics/Physics related subjects from institutes approved by UGC/Government.
OR should have degrees obtained through Distance education/ correspondence mode. These candidates will have to attend the suitability test/interview procedure.
Candidates who have appeared or are yet to appear for the final exam of the qualifying degree will be eligible for admission if his/her result will be declared by July 15, 2018.
For IIT Graduates
The candidates should have qualified B.Tech from one of the IITs.
Should have scored CGPA of 8 (on a scale of 10). Reserved category candidates should have secure 7.5 (on a scale of 10). These candidates will be able to apply without a GATE score.

The online application form of IIT Madras M.Tech Admission 2018 is available from March 7, 2018. All candidates have to successfully fill and submit the application form till April 15, 2018. Before filling the IIT Madras M.Tech 2018 application form, the candidates are requested to read the eligibility criteria. Ineligible candidates will not be entertained.

IIT Madras M.Tech Selection Procedure 2018
Allotment of seats will be done strictly in the order of merit as per the GATE scores (CGPA for IIT graduates) of the candidates. The selected choices of the candidates during registration will also be taken into consideration during the allotment process. Additional rounds of admission will be conducted tentatively during the fourth week of July 2018 if seats are left vacant after allotment. Those candidates who could not secure admission in the first, second and subsequent rounds will be considered for the additional round.
All candidates who are successfully allotted seats will have produce their degree completion certificate and report at the institute tentatively by the fourth week of July 2018. If the candidates are unable to report for admission, then his/her admission will be cancelled. The institute fee also has to be paid by the candidates through online payment facility. In case a candidate withdraws his/her offer of admission, then a processing fee of Rs. 1000 will be retained by the institute.
