IIT Madras M.Tech Admission 2026 - The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has commenced the COAP 2026 Round 9 COAP window from July 4 to 6, 2026, during which candidates will be able to choose to "Accept and Freeze", "Retain and Wait", or "Reject and Wait" their admission offers. Along with that, the Round 9 offered candidate list has also been published on the official COAP portal. Earlier, the COAP 2026 Round 1 window was conducted from May 11 to May 13, Round 2 from May 20 to May 22, Round 3 from May 25 to May 27, Round 4 from May 31 to June 3, 2026, Round 5 from June 6 to 10, 2026, and Round 6 from June 13 to 17, 2026. The COAP 2026 registration process began on March 26, 2026.
Meanwhile, IIT Madras concluded the M.Tech 2026 application process on April 28, 2026. The application form was made available through the official M.Tech admissions portal. Candidates possessing valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 scores were eligible to apply. Additionally, B.Tech graduates from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above were eligible for admission without a GATE exam, subject to the institute's admission criteria. Admission to the IIT Madras M.Tech programmes is conducted online and is primarily based on candidates' GATE scores and participation in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) counselling process. First of all, candidates interested in the IIT Madras M.Tech admission process have to fill out the online application form.
