i currently study B.E COMPUTER ENGINEERING 3rd sem in sigma institute of engineering vadodara, Gujrat. i am preparing for gtu exams . can i prepare for GATE exam bt i go to abroad

Aman Raj Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

Hello Yukta

First be clear, Whether you want to prepare for GATE exam or go abroad for your further studies. On the basis of GATE exam exam also many Universities in Germany and Singapore gives admission.

You can only give GATE when you are 8th Semester or have Completed your course.

I am in (physics) 1 year ,I want to give GATE exam by doing or M .ca (plzz suggest which will be best ) , can any one help me what to do now and in coming year,I am not doing any coaching, only preparing fir first year exam.

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019
if you are a BSc student and after doing MSc or MCA you want to give GATE exam so I am suggesting you to prepare from the very first day because you are going in a different Path, which may be different in the comparison of the syllabus of GATE exam so along with the study of your bachelor you should give a part of your time to the study for GATE syllabus, if you want to  give GATE exam in computer science stream then MCA will be better after your bachelor , and Msc. in Computer science will also be better, if you want to give GATE exam in another stream then you can pursue MSc in any of the subject.
Best of luck

Im 2019 pass out. can I appear in GATE 2021 ?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

Yes you can give GATE. There is not attempt barrier or age barrier in GATE. The only criteria is candidate should be in the final year or graduated from a recognized college.

You can prepare well as per your branch and attempt the exam with best efforts such that you will be eligible to get an admission in TOP  engineering colleges.

to take an admission in IIT or NIT, a cgpa more than 6.5 is required.

Hope it helps!
