Yes, you can appear for the GATE Mechanical Engineering (ME) paper even if you have a B.E./B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering , provided you meet the GATE eligibility criteria.
However, qualifying GATE ME does not automatically make you eligible for PSU jobs .
