What is JEE Main 2026 Percentile?

JEE Main 2026 percentile indicates the performance of the candidate relative to the other candidates in the JEE Main 2026 exam. This means that it indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than a particular candidate. The result is released in the form of a JEE Main 2026 percentile because of the multi-session format of the exam.

How to calculate the JEE Main 2026 percentile

NTA calculates the JEE Main percentile by applying a normalisation formula. Candidates can use the formula to calculate their JEE Main percentiles. However, they can also use Careers360’s JEE Main 2026 percentile calculator for the same. To use the percentile calculator, candidates need to know their JEE Main raw scores. The JEE Main 2026 exam pattern contains information about how to calculate the raw scores.

The JEE Main normalisation formula is

  • Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) equal to or less than the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)

Total Percentile (T1P):

(100 x No. of candidates from the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Mathematics Percentile (M1P)

(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than the M1 score in Mathematics)

/ Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Physics Percentile (P1P)
