There are students who did not even register for the placement. This does not mean these students were unemployed. Many students go for higher studies, join family businesses, start startups, or get off-campus jobs. However, students should always look beyond headline placement percentages and focus on recruiter quality, median salary, branch demand, and career opportunities.

If placements get attention, salaries get clicks. Here is what the numbers from the annual report show.
For 2024-25, the median salary stood at Rs 19.4 LPA, with 14% year-over-year growth. The average salary was Rs 22 LPA across all branches. The placement drive for 2024-25 recorded more than 500 active recruiters and over 80 per cent students placed during the ongoing placement season.
Average salary can be influenced by a few very high packages but the Median salary tells you what a typical student receives. That is why the Rs 19.4 LPA median salary figure is more useful than the average salary figure. BITS continues to maintain one of the strongest salary outcomes among non-IIT engineering colleges in India.
Many students assume BITS is only strong for software jobs. The data says otherwise.
Nearly half of the batch (45%) gets into the IT sector, followed by Electrical & Electronics (16%) and Banking and Finance (14%).
Analytics & Consulting represents 12% while the recruitment in Mechanical & Manufacturing is 8% and Bio Pharma & Chemical has 5%.
The placement drive at Pilani campus for the 2024-25 academic year shows strong participation from top-tier global companies:

The data shows that the overall Hyderabad campus placement rate stood at 83.00 percent.
Data Gap: BITS Hyderabad campus did not mention how many students actually graduated.
The BITS Hyderabad campus placement data shows how close it is to Pilani campus.
The question arises here: Is BITS Pilani Hyderabad underrated? Most students think of Pilani >> Hyderabad. The actual placement data suggests Pilani > Hyderabad. But not by a massive margin. For example:
The Computer Science placement rate at Pilani is 95.6 per cent and Hyderabad is 94.7 per cent. The Electronics & Communication placement rate at Pilani is 88.3 per cent and Hyderabad is 88.9 per cent. The Chemical Engineering placement rate at Pilani is 77.2 per cent, and BITS Pilani Hyderabad is 78.3 per cent. The differences are much smaller than most students expect.
If you miss Pilani by 20–30 marks, Hyderabad is often a smarter choice than sacrificing branch quality.
At the BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus, 848 students registered for placements, where 93 per cent were placed. During the placement drive 289 companies visited and made 794 offers.

If you think of which campus is best between Goa and Hyderabad, as this question appears every year.
Choose Goa If:
You want a stronger brand perception.
You value campus life.
You miss Pilani by a small margin.
Choose Hyderabad If:

Campus Preference Order
This analysis is crucial to help students understand and decide which branch they can choose at which campus. Each campus has its own preferences and advantages.
So, students should focus on career goals, branch outcomes, and placements. A strong branch at Hyderabad or Goa can often create better career outcomes than a lower-demand branch at Pilani.
On Question asked by student community
Hi,
With a BITSAT score of 188, getting an Integrated M.Sc program at BITS Pilani main campus may be difficult this year. However, you can still have some chances in:
• BITS Hyderabad – M.Sc Biological Sciences/Chemistry (borderline)
• BITS Goa – difficult but possible only if cutoffs drop slightly.
Hi,
With 86.511 percentile, OBC-NCL category, and Army ward quota, you should definitely participate in JoSAA and CSAB counselling because you can still get decent ECE/EEE options in lower NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Army ward quota can also help in some institutes.
For ECE/EEE, you can target:
• NIT Srinagar
Hi,
With a BITSAT Session 1 score of 202 and applying for B.Pharm, you actually have pretty decent chances, especially at BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus and possibly even Pilani campus depending on final cutoffs.
Recent B.Pharm cutoffs have generally stayed much lower than engineering branches, often around 150–175 marks in
With your scores, you still have quite a few good options, especially because of UP domicile and female quota advantages.
Good possibilities include:
• Institute of Engineering and Technology Lucknow → ECE/AI-related branches possible
• Harcourt Butler Technical University → good core/electronics branches
• Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology →
Hi,
If you are looking for mock tests for BITSAT, you can attempt a free mock BITSAT series provided by Careers360 at BITSAT Mock tests .
Hope it helps!
