Inter-se-merit rules of IIST B.Tech 2018 rank list
In case of two or more candidates securing same marks in JEE Advanced 2018, the following inter-se-merit rules was used while making the IIST B.Tech 2018 rank list.
Candidate having more marks in Mathematics are awarded higher rank.
If tie still exists, candidate having more marks in Physics are considered for higher rank.
In case the tie is still prevalent, then the candidate having the higher rank in JEE Main 2018 exam in the respective category are given higher rank.
Salient features of IIST B.Tech rank list 2018
IIST has been prepared the B.Tech rank list 2018 on the basis of aggregate JEE Advanced scores of the candidates.
Candidates will be invited for counselling on the basis of their ranks as mentioned in the rank list.
To be considered for admission at IIST for B.Tech programmes, candidates had to register. Candidates also had to provide all the required details and also pay the specified application fee on or before the last date of registration.
In JEE Advanced 2018, general category candidates need minimum 20% in aggregate along with minimum 5% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, OBC-NCL candidates need minimum 18% in aggregate and 4.5% in three subjects individually, whereas, SC, ST and PwD candidates need 10% in aggregate and 2.5% in each of the subjects to be eligible.
