Candidates can calculate the JEE Main percentile for the practice papers and the JEE main exam they have given. This will help them analyse their performance in the JEE Main 2025 exam. Candidates can then decide if they want to attempt the JEE Main April session to improve their performance

What is the JEE Main Percentile?

NTA JEE Main Percentile refers to the percentage of candidates that scored equal to or below a certain score in the JEE Main 2025 exam. Calculating the JEE Main 2025 percentile is called the JEE Main normalisation process. To calculate the JEE Main percentile, the authority converts the raw scores of the candidates into a percentage score(out of 100). This ensures that all candidates attempting the JEE Main exam have an equal score despite the varied difficulties of the multi-session papers.

How to Calculate the JEE Main percentile?

The process of calculating the JEE Main 2025 percentile is mentioned below

  • Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) equal or less than the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)
Amrita University B.Tech 2026

Recognized as Institute of Eminence by Govt. of India | NAAC ‘A++’ Grade | Upto 75% Scholarships

UPES B.Tech Admissions 2026

Ranked #43 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest Package 1.3 CR , 100% Placements

The calculation for the Raw scores, the subject-wise and the total NTA score in the JEE Main result are given below.

Raw Scores: Marks obtained in each session and subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) of the JEE Main exam calculated for all correct and incorrect answers, totalled up to obtain a total raw JEE Main 2025 score.

JEE Main Percentile Scores for each subject and total percentile score

Percentile scoreCalculation

Total Percentile (T1P):

(100 x No. of candidates from the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Mathematics Percentile (M1P)

(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than than M1 score in Mathematics)

/ Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Physics Percentile (P1P)

(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Chemistry Percentile (C1P):

(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates appeared in the session

Hello

The JEE syllabus mainly covers Physics, Chemistry, and Math from NCERT Class 11 and 12.
You should follow NCERT first because it builds the strongest foundation for all three subjects.
For a deeper understanding, use books like H.C. Verma (Physics), Cengage (Maths), and O.P. Tandon / M.S. Chouhan (Chemistry).
For practice, solve JEE Main PYQs to understand the exam pattern.

Hello,

You should select Jharkhand for the JEE Mains application form because you will be reappearing in the exam as a private candidate in Jharkhand. The state you will be appearing in and your passing year are what you should fill in your JEE Mains application form, but not your 12th class state.

Hope it helps!!!

It's a very good choice to aim for IIT, for getting admission in IIT you must take pure mathematics as it teach you more concept than applied which help to get more score in JEE Mains and Advanced.

You should practice more harder than yo0u do in your class 11.
