Q1: Congratulations on your performance in JEE Main February 2021 exam! What was your reaction upon knowing your JEE Main score 2021?
A1: When I was about to check my results the NTA’s server went down. So, I asked my relatives to check it. When they called me and told me that I got 100 percentile. I was surprised because I didn’t expect it but felt happy about it.
Q2: Tell us something about yourself. Which board have you studied under? Which school have you studied in?
A2: I like innovative ideas and like to draw, paint, watch anime(Japanese Animation). Also, I like to explore the electronic parts of devices and build some stuff with ice cream sticks. I study under the CBSE board. I have been studying at St.Gregorios School in Dwarka sec-11, New Delhi.
Q3: Why do you want to study engineering? When did you decide to study engineering? Which branch would you be interested in? Any reason?
A3: I want to study engineering because in that field we can do a lot of creative work along with logical things. At first, I opted for the medical line but I never got interested in biology. So later in 11th, I changed my subject to computer science and I decided to study engineering. I am interested in Computer science because I like programming and while making programs we have to think a lot and that is the fun part.
Q4: When did you start your JEE Main 2021 exam preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy?
A4: My JEE Main preparation started from the beginning of 11th grade. My Strategy was to keep the concepts clear of what I was studying. And keep doing sample papers to check my ability. My daily routine was that in the morning I used to attend classes then, later on, gave mock tests given by the institute if there was any doubt I used to attend doubt classes, and the part in which I have to remember more and I used to keep revising them periodically.
Q5: Did you face any difficulties since the JEE Main 2021 exam was conducted completely in computer-based mode?
A5: No, I didn’t face any difficulty since I used to give mock tests on the computer so till the date of examination it became a habit. So, there was no such problem.
Q6: Was there a difference in the preparation strategy in the last months of JEE Main 2021 considering that the board exams are also coming up? How did you manage preparation for both?
A6: No, there was no difference in the preparation strategy in the last months of JEE Main 2021. Since, while studying I used to keep practising both subjective and objective way as the concepts are similar in both cases the difference is just that board exams are subjective while JEE Main is objective.
Q7: Did you take coaching for JEE Main 2021 exam and if yes from where? What are the benefits of taking coaching according to you?
A7: Yes, I took coaching for JEE Main in Aakash Institute. In coaching, Teachers are really supportive. If any doubt comes, they clear it. They keep giving mock tests and since there is a lot of students we are able to compare our ability and accuracy. There are many good competitors as well.
Q8: Mock tests and sample papers - how extensively did you practise with the help of these? Do you think practising from the previous year’s papers helps and how?
A8: I did a total of 32 mock tests and I practised the previous year’s papers as well. Yes, they are quite helpful since they gave me a gist of how the paper might come and helped me to gain confidence.
Q9: Are there any special books that you feel have helped with your JEE Main preparation 2021? Are the school textbooks enough for preparing for JEE Main and 12th Class?
A9: Yes, for Chemistry, I used MS Chauhan, Neeraj Kumar, for physics, I used HC Verma, I.E Irodov, for mathematics, I used Ghanshyam Tiwari and for Chemistry, NCERT is enough. But for physics and maths practise is required from other books as well.
Q10: Did you face any problems during the JEE Main 2021 examination? Which subject was the toughest and which was the easiest in JEE Main exam? What do you think is a tough thing to manage during the examination?
A10: During JEE Main exam my mouse stopped working during the physics part but later the invigilators changed the mouse. But I didn’t panic since I thought that these things might happen so I was ready for the consequences. The part in which remembering was required was difficult for me like in chemistry. And easiest was maths. But overall the exam was easy. The tough thing to manage during the JEE Main exam was to maintain composure.
Q11: What do you think are the essential factors behind your marvellous success in JEE Main 2021 exam?
A11: My teachers who supported and taught me so well are the key factors behind my success in JEE Main. As well as my mother also used to take care of me and give me everything in time.
Q12: Will you be appearing for any other sessions of JEE Main 2021 too?
A12: No, I don’t have any plan for that.
Q13: How did you de-stress yourself during the JEE Main 2021 preparation? What are your hobbies?
A13: There was actually no stress on me. My hobbies are to draw, painting, watch anime. I watch anime daily for some relaxation and about drawing I do that occasionally.
