Q. Well done, Mr Shubam Kumar! How was your performance in JEE Main 2026 Session 1?
Thank you! It was really good. I scored 295 out of 300 and have achieved a 100 percentile.
Q. How did you accomplish such a good score in JEE?
I credit my success to the guidance of my faculty and the support of my family, apart from regular practice.
Q. Would you like to share about your family?
Yeah sure. My family is from Gaya, Bihar. My father, Shivkumar, is a businessman, and my mother, Kanchan Devi, is a homemaker.
Q. How did your family support you in this endeavour?
They always had my back. I always went to my father for practical guidance. Especially whenever I got low scores in the practice tests. My mother has been my emotional backbone throughout the journey.
Q. Can you please tell us about your percentage in class 10th?
Yes, I cleared my 10th grade with a 98.5 per cent.
Q. Wow! That's a good score in class 10th. So, Shubham, did you join any coaching for JEE after that?
Yeah! I have been a regular classroom student at Allen Career Institute, Kota. I joined the classes two years ago.
Q. What do you think is the most important factor when it comes to preparation?
It is crucial that one is disciplined. It is important to practice regularly and follow the suggestions provided by the teachers diligently.
Q. Since you have been a part of Allen since the past two year, how did it help you?
Allen's faculty explained every topic from the basics, which strengthened my concepts. I always listened carefully to them and studied according to their instructions.
Q. Tell us about your daily routine. How many hours did you spend on your studies per day?
I spent approximately 6 to 8 hours daily on self-study. I revised the topics taught in class the same day and practiced questions regularly. I especially focused on my weak topics.
Q. Preparing for JEE Main must have been stressful. How did you cope with it?
While there was pressure at times, I turned it into motivation. I remained focused on my goal and maintained my confidence.
Q. What do you want to do next after clearing JEE Main?
In the future, I aspire to pursue B.Tech in the CS branch at IIT Bombay. Therefore, I am currently focused solely on the JEE Advanced."
