Careers360 delved deeper into it after parents in Maharashtra especially Mumbai of all places called up to complain about this. One parent had gone to the Colaba of Canara Bank in Mumbai while another parent called up the Virar Branch to find out about it. Surprisingly the bank officials were not aware of the JEE Main 2014 Fee Payment. If this is the case with a metropolitan city, imagining the situation in small and far flung places does merit some thought.
An official at Virar Branch in Thane Dist in fact suggested that the parent try ICICI Bank or get the JEE notification leaving her feeling helpless.
The problem is not just restricted to Mumbai or Maharashtra. We have had complaints from Gaya and other places too about Canara Bank branches and no awareness of the JEE Main 2014 Payment.
Listen to a complaint from a parent who had approached the Canara Bank and was refused.
Important: The JEE Main 2014 EChallan has the account no mentioned as "JEE Main 2014 Fee Payment" only
Many students are confused but the CBSE officials say that the EChallan is fine and that the BAnks have been given instructions on the same.
Careers360 asks Canara bank:
Careers360 then got in touch with the Mumbai Regional Office and was given a Tel No to call up – 022-22185961. The officials seemed aware of JEE Main 2014 and the fee Payment details. We were told that an email had been sent to all branches and that parents could pay at any Canara branch. They wanted the details of the branches which had given concern to the parents. The official who talked also suggested that parents call up this number given above from the branch itself and the problem would be resolved immediately.
Note: The Phone no mentioned above is applicable to the Mumbai region only.
Listen to the reply from the Canara Bank.
Earlier when Careers360 contacted the CBSE Helpline for the same, they were told that the banks had to take the payment and the official sounded incensed. Unfortunately we pointed out that it was not done and could CBSE please see to the resolving of the matter? The official did take the details of the branches which we had parents complaining about and assured a look into the matter.
It seems that the issue may be resolved now that the higher authorities of the Canara Bank have been notified. But the question still arises as to why the bank was so unprepared when the applications had started on November 15 with a good old two days past; today being November 18, 2013? JEE Main 2014 is the largest entrance exam in the country with a record of more than 16 lakh expected applicants. We feel better preparation should have been in place and students not hassled by ignorance within the bank. We also hope that Canara Bank will take notice and ensure parents and students across the country do not face any problems.
Finally A Helpline Number from Canara Bank for JEE Main 2014 Candidates! Careers360 again took up the battle on behalf of the students and called up the Mumbai regional office which gave some of the HQ phone numbers. We left our phone numbers too and gave details of some of the branches refusing the payment. Shortly, we received a call from Mr. Abhay - Sr Manager, Patna Main branch who informed us that they have a software issue so students were redirected to another branch. We asked him for the Head Office Nos so that we could contact them to find out a common helpline that could be used by students. After a series of calls, we were finally directed to Mr. Shekhar who is the Manager (MIPD Department), Canara Bank for the country. He elaborated that all the branches of Canara Bank have been intimated with detailed instructions via email. On our query about students still facing problems, he said that their department had been spoon feeding the people at various branches and was surprised to know about the problems. E-Challan and Account No: When asked about the confusion about the account no in the Echallan, he clarified that the students had nothing to do with this and the branches were given a software to accommodate this. The new JEE main 2014 system has a common named account and that the branches were informed to this effect via Email. Helpline: We asked him whether students across the country irrespective of irrespective of state, city or town could contact him from the branch where they are facing problems and he stated that they could call him as mentioned below for any problems faced. Canara Bank Helpline: Contact Person: Mr. Shekhar, Manager (MIPD Department), Canara Bank Phone No: 011-26293103 Important: Please call Mr Shekhar Only if you face a problem in any of the Canara Bank branches regarding the JEE main 2014 Fee payment. |

Hi!
So according to your percentage that is 80 percentage in JEE Mains and a rank around 1 lakh it is difficult to get admission in CSE in BVRIT through the regular quota because cse cut offs usually goes very high.Fir ECE your chance of getting admission is very less but not impossible if you are OBC/SC/ST. You can also apply through management quota but the fees will be higher.
I think you want to say 86 percentile because JEE Mains releases merit lists based on percentile, not percentages. So, with this percentile, you can get into several government colleges or private colleges in the city of Hyderabad. There many colleges in hyderabad that accept mains score, some popular ones arfe
But there are several colleges in this rank, which you can check with our college predictor in this link from Career360:
