Candidates who obtained a good rank in the JKCET exam can participate in the JKCET 2026 counselling. The authority conducts the JKCET counselling in an online mode on the official website. Candidates who are allotted seats will have to report to the allotted institute within the specified time. Candidates have to complete the document verification and pay the required fee to confirm their admission.

Step 1 - Document Verification and Registration: All qualified candidates will first have to register themselves for the counselling process. The authority may hold the JKCET counselling in online or offline mode. For online counselling, candidates will have to fill in the preference form on the official website within the specified dates. In the case of offline counselling, candidates will have to report to the counselling venue and verify their documents. The procedure of document verification will be done at the specified centres. All of the required documents have to be produced and a unique ID and password will be given to the candidates after the verification is completed successfully. The following documents have to be produced for verification:
JKCET 2026 application form printout.
Proof of application fee payment.
JKCET 2026 Score card and certificates of class 10 and 12.
Two recent passport size photographs.

Step 2 - Choice Filling and Locking: Next, the verified candidates will have to log in using their JKCET 2026 registration number to fill their preferred choice of courses and colleges in online mode. Before filling out their choices, the candidates will be able to check the course wise, category wise, and college wise seat matrix which will be released by the authorities. All of the choices selected by the candidates have to be in the order of preference. The candidates will also be able to add, rearrange, or modify their choices before the final date. No changes will be accepted after the choices are locked by the candidates.
Step 3 - JKCET Allotment of Seats: After the choice-filling process concludes, the authority will announce the seat allotment result for JKCET 2026. Candidates can know the colleges for admission based on their merit and preferred seats. There will be two rounds of JKCET allotment along with an additional round in case of vacant seats.
Step 4 - Reporting at Allotted Institutes: The shortlisted candidates will have to report to their respective allotted institutes to confirm their admission. While reporting to the institute, the candidates will have to produce their documents along with the allotment letter. The required fee also has to be paid by the candidates.
