JEE Main Previous Year Questions: Trends Analysis (2021-2025)

  • Weightage Distribution: In each exam, the weightage distribution across Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry remained evenly distributed at about 33% each.
  • Subject Difficulty: Classically, Mathematics was always the most difficult and lengthy subject, with the more common topics for evaluation being Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Vectors/3D Geometry. Physics revealed variability in terms of its difficulty, with areas of consistent testing being Mechanics, Optics, and Modern Physics. Chemistry was the least difficult and most scoring, especially in the Organic and Inorganic domains.
  • Cutoff Percentile Trends: The General category started to drift upward gradually, most significantly in the last two years. The OBC, EWS, SC, and ST categories began a gradual upward drift.
  • Application-Based Questions: Possible, but there was an increase in the "real-world applications" and reasoning-based questions, due to the heavier emphasis in Physics and Mathematics.
  • Visual/Analytical Reasoning: There were occasional questions in the class style, in which students were expected to demonstrate their reasoning, logic, and ability to interpret data.
  • Time Management: JEE main papers are always lengthy; thus, time management across the three subject areas is always a challenge for students.
