GATE Chemistry Answer Key 2026: IIT Guwahati will publish the answer key for the GATE Chemistry paper a few days after the GATE exam 2026. The GATE Chemistry answer key link will be activated on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The authority will first release the GATE Chemistry provisional answer key, which can be challenged by candidates via the response sheet. And finally, the GATE final answer key will be released along with the GATE 2026 result. Candidates will be required to enter their GATE login credentials to download the final GATE result 2026. The GATE Chemistry exam will be held on February 7, 2026.

The GATE 2026 exam is a 3-hour online computer-based test (CBT) in English for 30 subjects. It has 65 questions worth 100 marks, including MCQs, MSQs, and NATs.

Once the authority releases the GATE answer key link on the official website. Follow the steps to download the GATE Chemistry answer key.
Go to the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Navigate to the GATE Answer Key link on the home page.
The answer key link will be available for each subject.
Find the Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC) from the subject lists.
Click on the link, and the GATE Chemistry answer key will be displayed.
The authority allows candidates to challenge the official provisional answers if its incorrect. However, to challenge the answer key, a fee payment of Rs 500 is required. Follow the steps to challenge the GATE Chemistry answer key.
Visit the GATE 2026 GOAPS and log in with the GATE enrollment ID and password.
Now look for the ‘Contest answer key’ link on the page and click on the link.
Candidates will be directed to the payment gateway page.
On the payment page, make a payment of Rs 500 for each question via online payment mode.
Once the payment is done, candidates will be given access to select the question number they wish to challenge.
Candidates will have to provide a 500 words and attach supporting documents for their challenge.
The authority will also release the GATE 2026 response sheet along with the answer key. This allows candidates to cross-check responses for GATE score calculation. The GATE response sheet will have the digital response marked by the candidates during the GATE exam. Here are the steps to access the GATE 2026 response sheet. Log on to the GATE 2026 official website.
Go to the official website of GATE, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Now login with the GATE enrollment ID and password.
Evaluate the arithmetic expression given in a box below the password box.
After logging in, click on the ‘View Response’ link or tab.
The GATE 2026 response sheet will be displayed on the screen in PDF format.
Candidates will be able to download the response sheet of GATE 2026 for further use.
Once the GATE answer key, GATE response sheet and GATE answer are released. Candidates will be able to calculate their score by cross-checking their recorded response against the answer key. Here are the steps candidates can follow to calculate their scores.
First of all login and download the GATE response sheet and answer key.
Now, match the answers against the official provisional key to count the correct, incorrect, and unanswered questions.
Follow the given marking scheme for calculation.
MCQ Marks: Total marks (1 mark) + Total marks (2 marks)
Total marks (1 mark) = 1 x no. of correct attempts – 1/3 x no. of wrong attempts
Total marks (2 marks) = 2 x number of correct attempts – 2/3 x number of wrong attempts
Net Marks: Total marks (1 mark) + Total marks (2 marks)
General Formula: Total marks = Marks secured for correct response – Negative marks for wrong response.
