I am getting 55 marks in cse GATE 2020 in general category. Can i get any govt job ?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 26th Feb, 2020

Hello,

PSUs accept GATE score for recruitment. The cut off for General category will be 70+.So with 55 marks it is difficult to getin PSUs.The cut off will be different for each PSU.And there are very less PSUs which takes Computer Engineering graduates.NLC, a PSU had a cut off of 78.67 in 2017 for Computer branch for general category, the cut off for Power grid was  68.53 for Computer branch for general category. The cut off for BARC in 2017 was 790 GATE score.Do not loose hope you may still have chances to get admission in M.tech with your GATE score.

hi,

see you did not mention about your stream from which you have applied for gate exam, cutoff score changes year to year and depends on various factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix etc.

now coming to psus vacancy cutoff score will depends on number of recruitment comes for any stream, at this score you have decent chances for mtech admission in nits, vit vellore, osmania university etc.

My expected gate 2020 CSE score is 555.44, what are my chances of getting college for mtech with EWS category?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 26th Feb, 2020

hi,

cutoff score changes year to year and depends on various factors like number of participants, seat matrix, questions difficulty level etc.

since computer science is one demanding stream, the cutoff goes really high for iits, and iiits. however you have decent chances for nits, vit vellore, jadavpur university, osmania university, state owned government colleges.

however at this score you have no chances in iits, nits.

however you may  try in government colleges or private colleges.
