are 135 marks good for fetting into the top nit in jee mains

Raj Aryan Sharma 22nd Jan, 2020

Hi Krishna.

If you are of the General category and without the ews quota, then NO, 135 marks in JEE Mains are not enough for getting into a top National Institute of Technology (NIT). So prepare well for April's JEE Mains if you are of the General Category.

If you are of SC/ST category, then you can easily get into ay top NIT with that many marks. For more information on the colleges that you might get with your marks/percentile, go check out this college predictor -

Hi. I scored 87.5 Percentile in JEE Main 2020 January exam. I belong to SC category. Will I get any NIT, which branch?

Raj Aryan Sharma 22nd Jan, 2020

Hi Sushanta.

With 87.5 percentile in JEE Mains 2020, you can get a Common Rank list ranking of about 1,08,000. This rank was calculated by calculating the total number of students ahead of you, through your percentile. (100-87.5*869010/100)

With this rank, you can easily get an NIT if you are in SC category. You have chances of getting Chemical, Civil and Metallurgy Engineering in The top 5 NITs. (NIT Trichy, Suratkal, Warangal and MNIT)

For more info on what is the best college and branch that you can get in this rank, check out this college predictor -

I got 83.77 percentile in JEE MAINS and I belong to SC category. Which colleges can I get and with which streams?

AYAN MULLA 22nd Jan, 2020

HELLO

your expected rank as per january exam is concerned is 141040. It is very difficult to predict the exact rank since it depend on various factors. the expected rank might change depending on the no of students appearing the april based exam.

The good news is due to your category and previous year cutoff analysis you might qualify JEE mains  this percentile is not good enough to get a good  NIT.

but do not worry you still have an april attempt left and advance too which means you still have a very good chance to enter into IITs

If you want to know which college you can get with the present percentile then use our college predictor which allots the college depending on your caste, gender, percentile etc.. The link is given down below.

I score 87.51 percentile in Jan 2020 jeemain suggest eng colleges for me

Rishi Garg 22nd Jan, 2020

Rank of a candidate is calculated by the formula :

Rank = (100-percentile score)*(Total no. of students appeared for the exam)/100.

As the no. of students appeared for JEE Main Jan slot are around 869000, your calculated rank will be around 108500. However, if the no. of students in April increases then your rank may go further down.

Based on your rank, There are very less chances of getting a NIT. Now, you may choose either to apply for some other colleges or you have a chance to improve your score in JEE Main April by performing well in that exam.

Here are some colleges which you may get based on your rank:

  • MIT Academy of Engineering
  • Punjab college of engineering and technology
  • I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU)
  • Jiwaji University
  • etc...

Since this is not the complete list, kindly use the the following link to get the list of colleges which you may get based on your percentile:
