The National Testing Agency has announced the JEE Mains April result for paper 2 on May 5, 2026 on the official website. The authority has released the list fo JEE Main toppers 2026 along with the declaration of results. It includes the names of JEE Main toppers in April as well as January attempts. NTA has released the state-wise, gender wise and category-wise toppers along with the 100 percentilers.
The authorities released the JEE Main exam pattern 2026, comprising the marking scheme. The authorities will consider the marking scheme while preparing the JEE Main April result 2026.
For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks.
For every incorrect answer, there will be a deduction of 1 mark.
Total secured marks = (Total No. of correct answers x 4) - (Total No. of Incorrect answers x 1)
The authorities will calculate the marks obtained by candidates and then prepare the normalised JEE Main score 2026 as well.

There are many instances where two or more candidates obtain equal total NTA scores in JEE Main. To evade confusion in such cases, the authorities have devised special criteria for resolving the same. JEE Main 2026 merit of such candidates shall be determined in the following order:
NTA score in Mathematics (For both Paper 1 and 2), followed by
NTA score in Physics followed by
NTA score in Chemistry followed by
Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test, followed by
Candidate with less proportion of many attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics (For both Paper 1 and 2) in the Test, followed by
Candidate with less proportion of many attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics (Paper 1) / Aptitude Test (Paper 2) in the Test followed by
Candidate with less proportion of many attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry (Paper 1) in the Test followed by
If there is tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
