JEE Main April Result 2019 - The National Testing Agency has announced the JEE Main 2019 April result for Paper-1. Candidates can check their JEE Main April 2019 result by logging in to the official portal using their application number and date of birth. The result of JEE Main April is in the form of a normalized NTA score calculated on the basis of performance of a student with regard to all the students who appeared for the exam in any shift. Students must note that NTA score is not the aggregate percentage of marks but is a percentile score. The result of JEE Main April 2019 session for Paper-2 will be released by May 15. Students have also been allotted their JEE Main 2019 rank. NTA has prepared JEE Main 2019 rank list by taking into consideration the best of two scores among JEE Main January and April session. How to Check JEE Main April 2019 Result for Paper I
NTA has successfully organised the January session of JEE Main 2019 during January 8 to 12 across 467 test centers in India and abroad. The test was held completely in online mode for which a total of 8,74,469 students has appeared for taking admission in UG engineering courses. The result of JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 for January session was declared on January 19. Candidates who appeared in JEE Main April 2019 exam can now check their result. The JEE Main April result 2019 has been declared in online mode only. The JEE Main April 2019 result has been released in the form of a normalised NTA score. Marking Scheme of JEE Main 2019
The NTA follows marking scheme as mandated and informed in the official brochure. The marking scheme of JEE Main 2019 is given below
For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded
For every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted
Total Mark = (Total No. of correct answers x 4) - (Total No. of Incorrect answers x 1)Students can calculate their mark using the above mentioned formula from the answer key. It will help them in estimating their chances of which college they might get for admission.
JEE Main Percentile Score
The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below that particular percentile in that examination. Therefore the topper (highest score) of each session will get the same Percentile of 100 which is desirable. The marks obtained in between the highest and lowest scores are also converted to appropriate percentiles. The percentile mark scored by candidate is converted into a scale of 0-100 for each session of exam. The percentile scores will be used for the preparation of merit list in further stages of admission.
NTA JEE Main Score
The National Testing Agency has released the result of candidates in the form of a NTA score. The NTA score of a candidate is calculated on the basis of candidate’s relative performance to all the candidates appeared in any shift. The NTA score is not average score of candidate nor is the average mark of candidate. NTA score is calculated with the help of a specific formula used by NTA.
Method of Resolving Ties
The overall merit of candidates will be based on the percentile scores of the total raw scores. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal percentile scores in the test, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined in order of preference as follows
Student obtaining higher percentile score in Mathematics in the test
Student obtaining higher percentile score in Physics in the test
Student obtaining higher percentile score in Chemistry in the test
Student older in age will be given preference
JEE Main 2019 Rank List
The NTA has published rank list of candidates along with JEE Main April result 2019. The JEE Main 2019 rank list has been formulated by taking into consideration the best of two JEE Main score. The JEE Main 2019 rank list is used for allotting seats into all the participating colleges. Seats will be allotted in the order of merit in rank list on the basis of category and other criteria as laid down by the counselling authority.

Students who score marks more than or equal to the JEE Main 2019 cutoff will be able to appear for the JEE Advances 2019. The cutoff mark have been declared by NTA along with the JEE Main April result 2019. Dear Vedan, this depends on your interest. If you are clear with your goal and aim then you can start preparing as early as possible. Many students start the preparation from class 9th only. Preparing for JEE in class 10th will definitely give an egde over others as more than 80%(estimate) students start their preparation in 11th. But you should be really confident over your decision.
