Yes, there is negative marking in the GATE 2026 for CSE paper and it will be applicable only to Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The GATE CSE 2026 paper will include questions carrying 1 mark and 2 marks. One-third of the marks will be deducted for incorrect 1-mark MCQs, while two-thirds of the marks will be deducted for incorrect 2-mark MCQs. There will be no negative marking for Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
