GATE 2026 Registration Date - IIT Guwahati has revised the GATE registration 2026 dates on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. According to the notification, the GATE 2026 registration began on August 28, 2025. Only registered candidates will be allowed to attempt the GATE Exam. The Application form includes steps like sign-up, form filling, document upload and fee payment. The last date to submit the GATE 2026 registration is September 28, 2025, without a late fee. The complete process of registration will be conducted in online mode only. The authority will conduct the GATE 2026 examination on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. Here is the list of documents required for registering for GATE 2026. All documents need to be submitted as a copy(in online mode).
Any Identity Card; Adhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport etc.
SC/ST/OBC Cast Certificate(If Applicable).
Pwd Certificate(If Applicable).
Photograph(with appropriate size and resolution).
Signature of candidate(with appropriate size and resolution).
Before applying, candidates must check the eligibility criteria. A candidate must have completed or be in the final year of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, or Humanities. There is no age limit for appearing in the GATE exam.

IIT Guwahati will release the admit card for GATE 2026 examination on January 2, 2026. Only candidates with the admit card will be allowed to enter the examination hall. Registered candidates will be able to download GATE Admit card by following the steps given below

Yes, it will be acceptable. In GATE registration, the name should match your valid photo ID proof in terms of spelling, not the order. Many Indian IDs have surname written first, while the portal generates it as first–middle–last. Since all three parts of your name (Vikash, Rameshbhai, Bhagel) are correct, there won’t be any issue. Just ensure you upload the correct ID proof. During verification, they check spelling, photo, and signature, not the word order.
