    How to Calculate Scores Using the Answer Key?

    Candidates can calculate GATE 2026 answer key scores with the help of the below-mentioned steps:

    First, calculate all the correct answers, allocate them, and then calculate the overall score. Second, tally the negative marks for all incorrect answers (with only MCQs having -ve marking and not the NAT questions). The calculation is as follows:

    • MCQs: Total marks (1 mark) + Total marks (2 marks)

    • Total marks (1 mark) = 1 x no. of correct attempts – 1/3 x no. of incorrect attempts

    • Total marks (2 marks) = 2 x the no. of correct attempts – 2/3 x the no. of incorrect attempts

    • NAT: Total marks (1 mark) + Total marks (2 marks)
