Questions related to GATE
my gate score is 660 and rank is 695 GN(ews) can I get vlsi (mtech) in old iits.
If we go through the analysis of previous year's GATE score Vs College allotment than according to the GATE 2021 score mentioned by you in the query you have very less chances of getting any of the IITs for VLSI because their cut-offs are somewhere around 700-750+ marks for General and EWS category so I would recommend you to go with some NITs or some private colleges because some private colleges also accept admission on the basis of GATE score.
You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-
Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To get admission in to NITs or IITs you need to have minimum 550-700 GATE score. if you have such score you have decent chances of getting seat in IITs or NITs. Considering the previous year cut off you have chances of getting seat in IIT, Guwahati in Computer Assisted Manufacturing the GATE cut off score was 401 for OBC-NCL category. The cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc.

should I prepare gate and ies together??? because there is little much difference and syllabus is same.
You can start preparing for IES as the syllabus is more in IES and it takes more time, for GATE you can work on your aptitude and numericals before few months of GATE examination,
As If you prepare for IES your theory part will be completed automatically and for GATE you can practice numericals so that you can get good marks in GATE.
But it's very important to focus on one of the competition first as you need to get maximum knowledge and learning so that you can get a good rank and get desired job/college.
I hope it helps,
Best of luck
