Careers360: JEE Advanced went online this year. What is your opinion about it? Did it change your preparation strategy for the exam?

Hemant Kumar Chodipilli: This year JEE Advanced 2018 went good. It had a few advantages over offline. We could mark a question for review and there would be no bubbling mistakes. I took up some online mock tests to get an idea about the exams. It didn’t change my preparation strategy.

Careers360: When did you start your JEE Advanced preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy and daily routine for JEE Advanced?

Hemant Kumar Chodipilli: I took JEE seriously from 8th class. I studied for nearly six to seven hours a day when I was in school and seven to ten hours a day when I was in college. I spent most of my time in my school and college.

Careers360:  How was the preparation for JEE Advanced different from JEE Main?

Hemant Kumar Chodipilli: Since the syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advanced was almost same, there wasn’t much difference in the preparation. I prepared mainly for JEE Advanced and towards the end I covered few extra topics for JEE Mains 2018  so that I could perform well in the exam and move to appear for JEE Advanced.

Careers360: Since there was just a month after the JEE Main, elaborate on your preparation strategy?

Hemant Kumar Chodipilli: I started revising the topics in detail and extensively solved the past years question papers and mock tests during the time between JEE Advanced and mains.

Careers360: Did you take coaching for JEE and if yes from where? What are the benefits of coaching according to you?’

Hemant Kumar Chodipilli: Yes, I took coaching from Sri Chaitanya for the exam. Coaching helps one to go in a planned way and boosts the confidence during the preparation. The faculty guide you in the right way and helps you overcome your weak areas.
