How to calculate JEE Main Marks from Answer Key: NTA has uploaded the final JEE Main answer key session 2 on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The authority has released the JEE Main 2026 final answer key on April 20, 2026. Applicants can now finally estimate their final scores with the answer key. The authority had released the JEE Main 2026 provisional answer key for session 2 online. Aspirants can calculate their JEE Main marks from the answer key. The process is very simple. First, they must download their recorded responses and the provisional JEE Main answer key from the official NTA website. Candidates should follow the official marking scheme to calculate the JEE Mains marks from the answer key. Later, match it with the JEE marks vs rank to determine the expected rank.

To calculate JEE Mains marks from the answer key, candidates should follow the steps below.
Visit the official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in
Click on the JEE Main 2026 session 2 answer key link
Enter the application number and password along with the other details asked.
Now click on “View response sheet.”
The complete question paper, along with the provisional JEE Main answer key and the candidate’s response sheet will appear on the screen.
Candidates should download the same to calculate the JEE Mains marks from the answer key. To do the same, they first give each correct answer +4 and deduct the -1 mark for each wrong response.
Lastly, add all the positive marks and subtract the negative one to calculate the marks online.

The process of calculating the JEE Main 2026 percentile is called the JEE Main normalisation process.
Below is the NTA's formula to calculate the JEE Main percentile:
Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) equal to or less than the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)

The JEE Main 2026 marking scheme must be followed while calculating the JEE Main Marks from the Answer Key. There are total of 75 questions of 300 marks in JEE Main 2026. Each question will have +4 marks, and -1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect response.

The JEE Main percentile is calculated with the normalisation formula. First of all, the JEE Main April 5 shift 2 raw score is obtained by adding and subtracting marks for the correct and wrong answers in accordance with the JEE Main marking scheme 2026.
