GATE Two Paper Combination 2026 - IIT Guwahati published the GATE 2026 two-paper combination list on August 21, 2025. In 2026, the exam-conducting authority introduced a new GATE paper combination. As per this update, candidates can choose the primary paper from a list of 30 options when applying for the GATE exam. The computer-based test GATE 2026 was conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.

No, it is not compulsory. Candidates can also attempt a single paper in the GATE 2026 exam.
The GATE 2026 registration fee for a single paper for male candidates is Rs 2000., hence candidates will have to pay Rs 4000 to apply for two papers in GATE exam. However, the application fee for female and reserved categories is Rs 1000, so candidates must pay Rs 2000 for two-papers.
