Q. Does CBSE release the official JEE Main answer Keys?

Ans: Yes. CBSE does release the official JEE Main answer key every year in online mode. The answer key is made available in the official JEE Main 2018 website.

 

Q. Are the JEE Main Answer Keys announced separately for offline and online exams?

Ans: No. The JEE Main answer key for offline and online exams will be released together by the official authorities.

 

Q. If a student has any doubts about the official answer key what is the procedure to object or challenge?

Ans: If a candidate has any doubt regarding the official answer key, then he/she will be able to challenge the answer key. However, the decision of CBSE/JAB will be considered final. The given steps can be followed by the candidates to challenge the official answer key:

  • Login using JEE Main 2018 application number and date of birth.

  • The form to challenge the answer key will have to be filled by the candidates.

  • After entering the required details, the result will be displayed on the screen.

Ans: Yes, The result and rank card of JEE Main 2018 is quite different. While the result will consist of all the details regarding the scores,ranks, qualifying status and more, the rank card will consist of the All India Rank (AIR) and Category ranks secured by the candidates. Ans: JEE Main 2018 will release the separate All India Rank and Category Ranks after the examination is over. State ranks will be announced through JEE Main 2018 as it will be handled individually by each state.

 

Q. How is the JEE Main 2018 rank decided when two students get the same marks?

Ans: Some situations do arise when two or more candidates score the same marks in JEE Main 2018 examination. During these situations, the inter-se merit or tie breaking policy will be adopted by the official authorities. The tie breaking criteria will be different for Paper I and Paper II of JEE Main 2018:

 

JEE Main 2018 Paper I

  • Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics of JEE Main 2018 will be allotted a higher rank

  • If the tie still exists, the candidates with higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.

  • Thereafter, the ratio of positive and negative marks secured by the candidates will be taken into account. The candidates with higher absolute value of the ratio will be given a higher rank.

  • If the tie is still not broken, then the candidate will be given the same JEE Main 2018 rank.

JEE Main 2018 Paper II

  • Candidates who secured higher marks in aptitude test will be given the higher rank.

  • Next, if the tie still persists, then the candidates with higher scores in Drawing Test will be allotted the higher rank.

  • At the next stage to break the tie, the ration of positive and negative marks will be taken into consideration. Those candidates who have a higher absolute value of the ratio will be given the higher rank.

  • The same ranks will be given to the candidates if the tie is not broken.

Q. When is the JEE Main 2018 Paper 2 result announced? How to check and download it?

Ans: The result of JEE Main 2018 Paper 2 will be announced on May 31, 2018. CBSE authorities will make the result available in online mode for all candidates. To check the JEE Main 2018 Paper 2 result, the candidates will have to submit their JEE Main 2018 roll number and password. All of the required details in relation to the result will be displayed on the screen which the candidates will have to check for any discrepancy.
