PSPCL Recruitment through GATE 2024: The Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) will soon commence the GATE 2024 recruitment procedure on its official website. Aspiring Candidates can submit their PSPCL application forms until the last date specified. The Punjab government-owned company responsible for power generation and distribution in the state will be recruiting Assistant Engineers (On Training)/Electrical based on Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 scores. As per the released official notice, the authorities are in the process of finalizing the modalities to fill up various vacancies. Candidates interested in joining PSPCL as AE/OT (Electrical) must appear for the national-level engineering entrance exam which was conducted by the IISc Bangalore.
PSPCL Recruitment through GATE 2024 - Eligibility criteria
Candidates having only the following degrees will be considered eligible for the above-mentioned discipline of PSPCL against the respective code of the GATE 2024 paper:

Various terms & conditions of Punjab Govt./PSPCL including the following shall be applicable:
(i) Age Limit/Reservation: Criteria for age limit/reservation will be as per the latest instructions of Govt. of Punjab. The existing age limit is 20 to 37 years of the respective calendar year during which recruitment advertisement is given.
(ii) Knowledge of Punjabi: Qualification of Punjabi is essential. All the candidates must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation level or its equivalent up to the date of document checking.
Note: Relaxation to Sikh Migrants up to the extent that they will have to acquire such qualification within two years after joining service failing which their services shall be liable to be terminated.
(iii) Eligibility of students: Candidates who have completed/appeared in their final engineering/qualifying degree will also be eligible to apply but they should have completed the requisite qualification on or before the date of document checking.
(iv) Details of actual posts for recruitment & registration process: A separate notice will be published in newspapers as well as online at a later stage indicating the complete details of terms, conditions, number of posts for recruitment and guidelines for registration. It is clarified that category-wise posts for AE/OT(Electrical) may/may not be advertised for recruitment as the same will depend upon the requirement of PSPCL.
PSPCL Recruitment through GATE 2024 Application Procedure
Candidates can apply online only.
They will have to submit the GATE 2024 registration number (issued through the admit card) while filling PSPCL application form.
Other information including personal, educational, etc. are also to be submitted in the application.

Yes, it will be acceptable. In GATE registration, the name should match your valid photo ID proof in terms of spelling, not the order. Many Indian IDs have surname written first, while the portal generates it as first–middle–last. Since all three parts of your name (Vikash, Rameshbhai, Bhagel) are correct, there won’t be any issue. Just ensure you upload the correct ID proof. During verification, they check spelling, photo, and signature, not the word order.

Yes, you can change your category from General to OBC during the GATE 2026 correction window.
GATE always allows candidates to correct details like category. You will need to pay a small correction fee for this change. Make sure you upload a valid OBC certificate as per the format and date mentioned by GATE.
So, wait for the correction window, log in to your application, and update your category to OBC.
